I have been doing some doctored up pre-made meals lately, because ever since my husband's radiation, two or three times a week - he is not hungry for dinner. The prepared meals allow me to decide last minute if we are having an acutal dinner or resort to bacon and eggs, cereal, soup and toast... whahtever floats his boat.

I'll look at Yupick. I live in between a couple of small townships - no Thrifty's or Whole Foods anywhere near by. We have SaveOn and Freshco in our township. I had not shopped aaround, just went to SaveOn where I have always bought Bob'a fine almond flour. I want to bake this week so online orders were not an option. I do appreciate the advice and will definitely shop around from now on.

We all know that prices are rising like crazy. I am going to make 5 dozen macaron's for my daughter's bridal shower. I've made them before, most recently for my other daughter's wedding last October, I use Bob's Red Mill fine almond flour. Today, I paid 22.00 for 454 grams (1 pound.) I swear that it was about 12.00 a few months ago.

I would be looking forward to that too! Your birotes salados look good. Is it a lean dough?

I'd like it too please Linda. I also intensely dislike oatmeal porridge - I remember gagging when I tried to eat it as a kid. Kit Kat, Coffee Crisp and Skor Bars for me. 25 years ago when our kids were little - we each got to pick a treat for Saturday Movie Night. Somehow, I still only buy myself a treat on Saturdays.

Same in our stores - they are either huge - like 2 or 3 pounds each or teeny tiny and skinny - barely enough for one person!

Looks like a lovely spot to camp. We had one fridge "incident" 30 years ago. We were heading down a gravel road to Telegraph Cove in B.C. Arrived at our camp spot to discover that our fridge door had swung open. 4 litres of orange juice, a jar of salsa, 10 eggs and a two litre water jug all over the floor. Took me about 3 hours to clean it up. I was 6 months pregnant with twins and it was about 35 degrees celsius. Since that day - I am manic about the fridge door being secured. Fast forward to a couple of years ago. We were packing up for a couple of weeks of camping. Our routine is that once we get everything loaded, I vacuum and wash the floors. I spied a bottle of bailey's and decided I deserved a shot while I was cleaning. Apparently I did not screw the cap on before I put it in an overhead cupbaord. Long story short, we got to our destination only to discover that the bottle of baileys had fallen over and leaked it's sugary goodness all over our back window, both recliners and much of the floor. the overwhelming smell of Bailey's made me feel sick so DH and I took turns with the cleaning.

Not in the Temple Bar area but easy enough to get to is the replica of the Jeanie Johnson - the only famine ship that lost no passengers. It was a fascinating tour - only about an hour long but gave real insight to what my relatives faced on their journey to North America from Ireland.

My husband's favourite dinner and one that he always requests for his birthday meal.

Having had our 5th wheel for 5 years now - I could certainly suggest some improvements. We have little to no counterspace in the kitchen area once the dishrack takes up counter space. However we have a huge space between the kitchen and the sitting area - large enough for 3 couples to dance. I get that it is about the slideouts, but still...And who ever thought it would be a good idea to carpet the stairs, the dining area and the bedroom? Sand, dust, dog hair - we are considering ripping all the carpet out.

I really admire your dedication to RV life. Not sure I would have the gumption to do it without my husband. I would definitely have to downsize both truck - a big Dodge Ram 350 with duallies and 35' fifth wheel. A friend of mine who recently lost her husband, sold their huge motorhome and bought her self a small one - 24' I think. It is just perfect for her on her own but has enough room for one or two more people.

Rapeseed is now called canola in Canada - guess the original name was offensive to some

Haha - curry is my preferred meal when my husband is not home. He's an adventurous eater but can't abide curry or peanut sauce - two things that I love!

Another who is happy to see you back. My goodness - your days of Easter spreads put my brunch to shame! We had our two daughters and their husband/fiance, as well as fiance's parent for Easter brunch. Mimosas, caprese skewers, then ham, cheesy potatoes, Ina's green green, green spring vegetables, a salad with artichoke hearts, roasted red red peppers, red onion, red lettuce, romaine and a red wine/olive oil/parmesean dressing. My daughter supplied dinner rolls that she had gotten up early to make that day and we had carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and a trifle made with angel food cake, passion fruit curd, mangoes, raspberries, kiwi and whipped cream. Everyone was sufficiently stuffed. Havind had only daughters, I am still in awe of and learning how much those 30-year-old fellows can put away. Told. my husband that we might need two hams next year!

Well he turned out to be an awfully good baseball player when they moved to Canada... Maybe catching a piece helped with that.

My grandfather was from Scotland, not England but apparently drippings on bread was a great treat - the usual fare was jam on bread, also known as "a piece." His family lived above a shop and apparently he would stand on the street and yell up "Ma, throw me down an piece and one for Jimmy too."

I have and do watch Top Chef and also Chopped - I too like seeing what the younger, up and coming chefs have to offer. I didn't ever watch an entire episode of Grocery Games or those type of shows - the commercials are enough to turn me off!

Me too. I miss Julia and Jaque and even Ina. I'm very over things like Grocery Store Games or Worst Cook in America. I love the Great Britsh Bakeoff and programs of that ilk,
