I was there last March and was disappointed. Gee Kim I certainly hope you told Mrs. Client about eGullet. http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?act=ST...arvest+moon+inn
We recently went to TM Ward coffee company, 7 S Passaic Ave, Chatham and they had some beautiful gift baskets. They had many gourmet items besides coffee to choose from.
"I remember Don's with the pictures of all the people. Has anyone ever occupied that building since?" There was a restaurant there for a short time. I think it is a nursery school or office building now.
You have every right to be angry. I wonder if the "truth in advertising" law applies to menu descsriptions. If you call the consumer affairs department let us know what they tell you.
A friend took me to The Egg Platter. What a trip. I had French Toast which was delicious. I never would have walked into this place on my own. Coffee wasn't good though.
Sounds like something went wrong there. I've dined at Il Mondo many times and never had a problem. Did you talk to the manager or hostess? If you are feel that you need to speak to someone ask to speak to Nancy and tell her what happened. For those who are not familiar with the restaurant it is BYO and there is only a small hallway in which you can wait. Certainly if there was a bar area the wait would have been a bit more tolerable but certainly inexcusable.
I'm glad you also posted the restaurants that you won't return to. I agree about Spanish Sangria. We were very disappointed the last time we were there.
We were at Papillon once. The place is charming, the food ok. It was no different then any other Italian restaurant--not great--not bad. Not worth a return visit from us.
I went to Endless Vines once and found the help to be unfriendly and not very helpful. I enjoyed walking through the Market Basket though. Try Gary's in Bernardsville or Wine Library in Millburn.
This was very hard. These are my favorite restaurants of 2002 in alphabetical order. My list changes daily so I may be amending this. What are your favorite NJ restaurants for 2002? Both of you come from diverse family backgrounds. Do you have any special ethnic dishes that you cook at home and/or incorporate into the menu at your restaurant?
Never been but if you are looking for another place to go to on New Year's Eve there is a list on Table Hopping With Rosie http://www.njmonthly.com/issues/Dec02/rosi.../rosiemain.html
Actually, I think the Clam Broth House was good about 40 years ago so that does age you! Try Augustino's in Hoboken. Link for Augustino's http://forums.egullet.org/ibf/index.php?ac...&f=5&t=9455&hl= Where do you like to dine?
So HAPPY to hear that you enjoyed your dinner at The Dining Room at Anthony David's. The restaurant is one of my favorites. We parked once for $10 at the lot on Frank Sinatra Drive. There is parking on the street there also.
