Love me some indoor Christmas decorations, and I am not even a Christian! Looking forward to this, as always. PS - Fried green tomatoes are awesome!

Macedonian feta is IMO even superior to Greek - far better texture. Guess I will buy up all local stock of Green feta and start flipping it on the secondary market!

This will probably get moved, but that's ok - curious to hear more about your fast.... I am preparing to do a 36h one (have read the most benefits are realized in the 24-36h mark - who knows) but your comment about being 'foggy' is interesting as it seems to contradict a lot of what I have read in terms of the sharp mental focus that people have when fasting... Did you consume minerals (natural salts) with water? Anything else? Also curious to hear why you chose eggs to break it with, seems like that might be tough on the gut (was thinking bone broth).

Some recent meals… meatballs in home made bbq sauce (pajama pants extra bonus) mushroom toasts with some soft Italian cheese whose name eludes me ribeye Younger son requested a burger when we were picking proteins at the butcher 🙄 washed down with some nice wine and a great cheese - rich flan to finish recreation of Jean George’s Thai coconut soup

As I believe it was mentioned, the picture you posted is not chicken marrow, its some other far larger, fattier beast. Also, I would be cautious 'scraping' chicken marrow out with any utensil (as you will get bone fragments). I grew up in a family who enjoys it, often after making braises or large batches of stock (something where time and liquid are usually involved in quantity), at which point, bite the ends off the bone, typically discarded (though if has been cooking for hours, the cartilage and tendons are delicious!), then, assuming ones teeth are of sound composure, bite with back teeth in the middle of the bone and continue to bite towards the opened end, squeezing the good stuff out. Extremely healthy and delicious!

I sit corrected. 60 (Diamond) years and you get your first, 65 another, 70 another and every year thereafter. To many more!

@Ann_T - 46! Congratulations!!! 4 more to go and you get a letter from the Queen King! Looks like a great meal.

Chapmans and Breyers are both pretty awful IMO....Kawartha Dairy is well above both, though their supermarket tubs do not compare to what you get at the dairy (I believe they pump air into the retail versions - dairy is far creamier). Though the other day we found the BEST ice cream in Canada - in Kitchener of all places, a little spot called 'Four All Ice Cream' makes seasonal flavours (with a core lineup) with locally sourced high fat dairy. They had this roasted strawberry and rubarb 'ice' that was so creamy and unreal. Though the standout for me was the Maple Creme Brulee ice cream, sweetened solely with CDN Maple Syrup. Unreal stuff! Oh, and the waffle cone....also best I have had! To top it off, everything is Gluten Free - so my son with Celiac was akin to a pig in a mound of fresh shit!

Blasphemous! But then again, you eat durian ice cream with a shovel, no less!

Not a huge pasta fan but this one hit hard… carbonara base, sautéed local corn, orange garden tomato seen below, pancetta and some fish pepper.
