interesting
are you using Mavea Filters because :
a ) you have a bazillion , for some reason ?
b ) you feel they are more effective than Brita ?
if b ) is the answer Id like to learn about it
Im fine with Brita BTW and drink the water out of my tap as its excellent town well water .
I just would rather remove the Ca for there effects on my gizmos
Bazillion is a strong word but I have them on amazon subscribe and save. They may or may not be better. I note the US Brita filters look an awful lot like the prior generation from Brita DE.
And c) I don't want to have to stock two kinds of filters.
I drink my tap water as well. Although the CSO is thirsty too. However the primary reason for obtaining the second pitcher is to test double filtration for making stock.

is it one of theses ?
is there a particular reason ( pardon me if you mentioned this earlier , but its still Hot Hot Hot here }
a US Brita ?
?
Yes it is the Elemaris XL. And yes, there is a reason, the Mavea filters I use don't fit the US Brita pitchers.

My Brita filter pitcher arrived today from amazon UK. Looks just like the Mavea pitcher that I purchased a couple years ago from amazon US. It's a pain that they left the US market.
No energy at the moment to set up and test. Will try to report back later.

I also saw an All-American Canner - looks to be about the 21 quart size. She wants $150 for it. I need to do one of three things - forget it, convince myself why I need it when I don't can anything that requires a pressure canner and I already own a total of 5 instant pots, or convince one of you that you want it.
Couldn't you just borrow an autoclave?
Camelcamelcamel shows the 21 quart All-American was $87 new on amazon US fifteen months ago. You might wait for prime day.

Me too. You get used to it. The restaurant was air-conditioned though.
Oh it looked open air!
P.S. I never get used to it. Having been around long before residential air conditioning was common. I was 32 before I had air conditioning.

Yes. It was 37ºC/98.6F and very humid. It always is here.
That's about what we had yesterday. I did not eat outside.

Superlative! How beautiful! (I wonder about the temperature and humidity however.)

Hot weather has not been helping my tomatoes. Particularly the plant closest to the air conditioner exhaust. More than a few flowers have turned brown and died. Still no sign of red.
My blueberries are all stripped except for the branches I wrapped in frost cover and kept well sprayed. Did I ever mention I hate birds? According to the NY Times the secret to sweet blueberries is to leave them on the bush a few extra days after they have ripened. Really. I wouldn't know.
Also I tried tying up my poor cosmos. They look pitiful. Next year perhaps I'll plant them with some support.

Ha! I subsist on government pensions. Would you buy a townhouse with 20 foot ceilings that you need to heat and cool? Somehow I think architectural students were let loose on this place. There isn’t a single light bulb you could change without finding a ladder of some sort. It’s fine for a few weeks in the summer……or the fall ... but own it?
Or the Society for Culinary Arts & Letters might need a northern headquarters.

Oh nice!
Last year mine looked just like that, minus the artichoke, all summer long. I gave up.
Same experience here. Quite a disappointment.

@HungryChris hoagies are better.

It's been impossibly too hot to bake, so (evening) lunch at work was a Wawa hoagie*. Dinner was the remainder of said hoagie. And an ear of corn by the method of @nathanm
*Wawa is good, my bread is better.

A storm came through this evening and seems to have taken down one of my blueberry bushes. Or it could have been the birds.
Also my cosmos.

But perhaps the biggest change is that the townhouse is to be sold. It is on the market with a closing date of September.
You and Kerry buy it.

Kerry have you ever tried the Hamilton Beach? About the only appliance I love as much as my CSO.
