I am betting they were much better than the “real” thing.

You should team up with @weinooand his copy of Peg Brackens “I Hate to Cook” book. If memory serves me she had a wonderful recipe for pot roast with onion soup mix.

The reason that I noticed it had much to do with the thought that if you want to grab someone’s attention begin with bacon! Out of curiosity I did use the “look inside” feature of the hardcopy version and wonder if the use of background colour and multipletypefaces is the latest fashion in publishing. I hope not as it is very annoying. It is the same issue I had with the latest David Chang book.

I can believe it. It’s just a far cry from slimy canned asparagus wrapped in squidgy white bread!

That is very peculiar. I am certain when I downloaded a sample of the Kindle edition that there was a single recipe for Red Boat Bacon. Perhaps it was only on the Canadian site and perhaps it was just my imagination. I cannot go backwards because I did in fact buy a kindle copy of the book.

Oh wow! Sounds so simple and looks so good.

Please, please put that spade away.

Having recently read the story of how the product came to be I shall definitely be looking at a Kindle sample once the book is released. Thanks. I was not aware of its existence.

I just want somebody to interpret “Modern Health”.

Despite the unseasonality of tomatoes I feel quite insecure without some in the house. As a result they often begin to slither towards compost before they get used. So once again some grape tomatoes went into the oven with garlic, salt and some olive oil and they enjoyed a long warm bath. After I had eaten the last bite of these ones that were served on a toasted English muffin, I wanted more. Lots of tomatoes left but no more English muffins. Damn.

You beat me to it! It falls into the category of Delicious.

Breakfast yesterday: ginger, garlic, red onions, Belgian endive, baby bok choy were sautéed together and seasoned with tamari and fish sauce. A couple of eggs were scrambled separately and then added before a final drizzle of sesame oil. An excellent way to use up some vegetables that were beginning to cross the river. This morning was spam ‘n’ egg with a toasted English muffin.

I had to do a little research on this but it does sound like such a great little bite. One of the sites that I landed on called it Greek bruschetta! Thanks so very much for sharing.

You too, eh? So far cannot bring myself to part with it so it continues to cultivate its dust cover.

Despite a bit of an oops this morning (I undercooked the eggs quite drastically) breakfast was amazingly good. A little ginger and a little garlic sauteed to begin with, then chopped scallions and small tomatoes and finally a couple of handfuls of chopped up baby bok choy. A generous splash of Red Boat fish sauce in which everything steamed for a couple of minutes and then two eggs scrambled into it. The extremely runny eggs were quite acceptable as a dressing but I will spare you the photograph. I know what runny eggs can do to some people.

Your link leads to a thermometer when I click. oops. I am reading too fast this morning. Please ignore my comment about your link. -
Cheddar cheese Toastie with red and green onion, tomato and red pepper. My favourite sprinkle of the moment, Chaat masala, may have found its way onto these after the photograph was taken.

Pun intended! If the cost of the meat was in reality an attempt to overcome its ecological damage then the price might be easier to swallow. This is about something much more related to profit than to care for the environment.

I hope I shall never again leave the kitchen faucet running into a stoppered sink while I turn my back to it so I can cook my lunch. Very late lunch. Very full washing machine. Very few available towels.
