@Kerry Bealwas chatting with me today about the Dutch potato spice as she headed to our local Dutch store for somee cheese. I did not want any of the spice but I did want some roasted potatoes. Here they are done in the air fryer (380°F for 20 minutes) I simply tossed them in a little olive oil and seasoned with some coarse salt. My favourite thing to do in the air fryer these days is Johnsonville brats. No fuss. No muss. No mess. I simply remove them from the refrigerator and from their packaging, place them in a nonstick tiny cake pan and bake them in the air fryer at 350°F for 15 minutes. I flip them at the half way mark. They are always perfectly cooked and there is no need to watch over them.

I am just glad to finally know they have a name. I’ve probably had them as long as almost anyone on eG. I find them really good for resealing frozen vegetable packages.

I truly admire this kind of creativity. Would love a bowl of that soup.

Yesterday was a holiday in Ontario, Family Day. Choices of restaurants that were open were quite limited. We settled on The Famous Owl of Minerva. This is a chain of Korean restaurants and a franchise recently opened in Oakville. @Kerry Bealhad the pork bone soup. I tried it as leftovers and was not too impressed. Pork bone soup is challenging to eat and is best enjoyed with close friends or family! I had the kimchi soup which was quite satisfactory. I found the banchan to be overly sweet. lots of leftovers!

I expected to see a marvellous display of lanterns when I logged on here! But I did learn something about the beginning and the ending of the Chinese new year holiday. Thank you.

We decided to try a new Thai restaurant today. Thai Smile. Not sure that it will remain on our rotation. Certainly not up to some standards we have had in the past. For Kerry —Thai chicken soup. Calamari and Thai red curry. for me – – calamari and Thai chicken salad which had it being a little more carefully balanced would have been great laarb. It was close enough that I would happily order it again. Sticky rice and mango. The mango was excellent – – the sticky rice not quite so much. Not often that you need a knife and fork to eat rice!

Wow that must be very painful at times.

Use baking soda. Soak it overnight if you wish. You need about 3 tablespoons of baking soda per litre of water. Or you could scour it with dry baking soda on a damp cloth and then rinse it off. You will probably never be able to remove the stains.

Well that’s different. But why not? I like gravy on my salad when nobody’s looking.

I did not order the desserts so I do not know which is which but they struck me as being very similar one to another. I cannot say that I was a fan of either.

All I can say is thank God SpaghettiOs had yet to be invented when I was a child. How would I have ever learned from my big brother how to properly and noisily slurp spaghetti so it left a sauce streak on my nose? When he was feeling particularly civilized and fancy spaghetti was served on toast otherwise it was eaten directly from the can, cold.

Those are beautiful, @RWood

@Kerry BealAnd I had lunch from the Egyptian restaurant in Burlington, Karioki Lounge. As the dishes were packaged. Kerry‘s chicken is the first photograph and my liver is the second. (Well not really my liver. I’m hanging onto that,) Kerry‘s plate. My plate. Dessert!

I stand corrected! Again. I have no knowledge of Google books.

That is the way I always made potato skins. After removing the flesh brush the skins with a little oil and bake until crispy before piling on the toppings.

The Crusty Chronicles. Savories from Bakeries.

After my plunge into the world of savoury pastry and crusty collections. I can’t bring myself to even look at anything along those lines. Wonder how long it will take! -
It looks like they are e-books but not in kindle format. I think Kindle is proprietary to Amazon. But I have been wrong before

And at least you did not waste too many precious calories on it!

And beer is so much more refreshing.

Lucky for you that you have a fair supply of beer on hand thanks to your friendly mom-and-pop store. Edited to add before someone feels obliged to point out to me – – I know dairy is supposed to calm the heat.
