Then there’s Poached scrambled eggs.

Thanks. Probably just a personal quirk but I find the stuffed tofu more “exotic” for want of a better word than the stuffed vegetables. That said I do wish my supermarket had anything like that selection! (Stuffed hot peppers, usually jalapeños, are very popular party food.)

Yes. They were sold door-to-door just like encyclopedias and fancy vacuum cleaners. You had to take advantage of whatever sale was going at the moment and sign on the dotted line immediately to save hundreds of dollars. My mother-in-law was easily taken advantage of.

Aha. The mystical magic of marketing.

That wasn’t the question as far as I know. I have a Zo and think it is a fine rice cooker.
-
I had to look up but even without it I would be happy to eat one of your roast beef faux-boys.

A bit late to ask him.

And here’s the rub in this country. When investigation is undertaken much of what we assume is recycled actually ends up in the landfill anyway. According to most sources only about 9% of recyclable waste is actually recycled.

But is the purpose of that iron coating to improve the texture and flavour of the rice or to maximize the efficiency of the induction heating element? From the Zojirushi website (May not refer to you exact model): “Iron Coated & Platinum Infused Nonstick Cooking Pan 2.2mm thick inner pan is made of highly conductive aluminum and durable stainless steel clad. Iron coating on the exterior aids IH by generating and storing heat more efficiently for even cooking. Platinum-infused nonstick coating on the interior changes water quality for sweeter tasting rice.” (Not quite sure how you can change the quality of water.)

My daughter and one of my sons who both live in different rural areas with no garbage pick up swear by one of these. Not cheap by any means! I am pretty sure we discussed them previously. Yes, here.

Nice article. Having once tried to separate seeds from fibres and found it a daunting job, I wonder how the suggestion of roasting everything together would work. Sounds very plausible to me.
-
Of course.

No wonder. Have you looked at some of the prices? My mother-in-law was suckered into spending a fortune on so-called waterless cookware in the 60s. I stand by my cynicism of the value of extremely expensive cookware which unavoidably burns carrots and sweet potatoes.
-
Looking at the prices I’m thinking we might need someone to sponsor us. And this little nugget from their “basic rules” gives me pause: “Burning is unavoidable when cooking some vegetables, such as carrots or sweet potatoes. In such cases, try adding 1 or 2 tablespoons to help generate steam when cooking.” I bet even the least among us can manage to cook sweet potatoes and carrots without burning them using less expensive appliances.

But the other option according to what I was able to find was to vacuum seal the lemons in a retort pouch. That would seem to indicate to me that a lid should be put on the mason jar.

The more I think about it the more I wonder if the fact that it requires an electrical outlet makes it a limited choice for outdoors. Some of us are fortunate to have outdoor outlets but otherwise it’s a matter of extension cords which are rarely a good idea.
-
I am assuming that a good part of the cost comes from making it weatherproof given that it is an electrical appliance. Marketing suggests that it can be left outside. There are few reasons that I can come up with why one might want one of these other than the smoking function. Seems their indoor grills do the same thing but can’t be left outside. But look out wrong I was about their ice cream maker!

I used to make a mean Cauliflower Casserole but I make things simpler these days. Cauliflower florettes cooked in the microwave then topped with sliced old cheddar and put under the broiler before being sprinkled with a little smoked paprika. Quite satisfactory.

You drove it home without a seatbelt? Sheesh.

You are correct that the only specific reference is to young people and hallucinogenic mushrooms. However, I find that most news sources clearly identify victims as children rather than including them as people. Hence my assumption.
