  1. I think you might actually be able to change a tire with it.
  2. dental tool?
  3. I've discovered that the IP gasket (as well as the gaskets of my other PCs) retain the odors of strong smelling ingredients. Recently I made Red Beans and Rice and the IP gasket still smells of it over a week later. Yesterday I took the gasket outside and hung it in the sun which seemed to help some. Next I'm going to try the trick that another poster (tropicalsenior, I believe) used, to PC some lemon and leaves (no leaves here) but I will try with just lemon.
  4. also called 'dishers'.

    Dinner 2017 (Part 6)

FINALLY!!! By the end of the week we'll be in the 50‘s instead of the 90‘s, with RAIN!!! I already bought the Italian sausage and the kale so I can make some oh-so-comforting sausage potato soup with kale. I can hardly wait!
  6. I actually experienced Hurricane Donna when living in Orlando back in 1960. that was when Orlando had a population of fewer than 50,000. I haven't been back since but it must look VERY different today. And I had to roll my eyes last night when David Muir, ABC Evening News, mispronounced Kissimmee.

    Dinner 2017 (Part 6)

#1 dog had to go in to the vet's today for cold laser therapy on her recent ACL repair so I stopped in at Pap Murphy's for my favorite Hawaiian pizza along with their chicken Caesar salad...both favorites I've ordered many times. No-fuss dinner, just the ticket!

    Bacon Bits

Host's note: this discussion of bacon bits and how to make them was moved from Hoarding Ingredients - suffering from Allgoneophobia? To me the flavor of bacon can overpower everything else. What I don't like is those bacon pieces that are put into prepared salads, even if they're real they're too much, besides being tough and chewy. What I do like is a BLT, which is just about the best sandwich there is.
  9. I apologize, I assumed they belonged to some random stranger who parked next to you.
  10. I think I'd have to change seats if the dirty bare feet were next to me.
  11. I used to be able to buy a mix that was offered by a charitable organization around holiday time; it came in five lb. bags and made very respectable macaroons. I wish I could buy it now. yours look very nice.
  12. It's also the second best-loved airport in the US (after Indianapolis).
  13. Empty because I'd already eaten most of it. And, because this is the first of my own photos that I've ever posted on egullet, it took a bit of dicking around to figure out how to do it.
  14. If it's in the original shrink wrap I'm sure it's fine.
  15. I made a quick trip to town today for a manicure and decided to pick up lunch at KFC. i've had some not-so-good food from that chain before bit I swear the one here puts out some darned good fast food. i got the chicken strips with mashed potato and gravy, biscuit, cookie and an extremely side of the coke slaw. Ranch for the dipping sauce. it was great although the cookie was way too sweet for my tastes.
  16. I got an email from Milk Street telling me that the new show was to air on Saturday. Well, as usual, I checked the channel listing for our PBS and no Milk Street to be found. We still haven't got the first 'new' season of ATK that was shown elsewhere last year! Living in a low population, semi rural area Is often like stepping backward in time (although this is sometimes an advantage).
  17. In your hot and steamy weather, how is it you are able to store things like crackers without them going stale?
  18. You mean they don't ship here? That seems odd. But I've run into other products that don't ship to low populated areas.
  19. Gosh, you must've bought it all, it's no longer available!
  20. Love a doctor with a sense of humor and a quick wit
  21. I think what should be done is to use parchment instead of cloth. I agree that it is confusing because it's said they bake it in a cloth. I wouldn't do that.
  22. Yeah, but your're an overachiever. I'm a bit of a slacker.
  23. I hope your new sink is an undermount. IMO, the only kind to buy.
  24. I actually had some Best Foods mayo go 'funny' because I stored it too long (even though it was in the second fridge). It sort of separated; though it still tasted fine. Now I don't stock up, though I do keep a spare in the other fridge. In a climate like yours I'd be afraid it's go bad if you didn't use it up pretty quickly.
