  3. @SLB see if their send back offer still stands . then do it. I wont tell you how I do eggs , but the eggs get done perfectly Im a Sur-le-plat person these days.
  4. ive been doing that w a glass cover , for the visuals of the action for quite some time. but I do it fond-less-ly in this : prices going way up I see ! BTW ,
  5. @Katie Meadow I have not done the ' pour over ' technique in ages I thought it was more flash than substance I micro my water until boiling , and am careful to make sure its not super heated ( stir carefully after Miro's it can boil over be careful ) then add freshly ground coffee to the pyrex measuring glass container nifty handle to take it out of the micro and stir and let steep for 3 minutes , stir again and pour into the filter . works well for me. P.S.: AltonBrown Mocri's his water for drip w a chopstick in it which takes care of super heating Sweet&Sour or OyesterBeef he never specified.

@shain your potato dish looks very interesting. would share more details ? never thought of caramel and potatoes before
  7. back when I was a student in Trade School mid-west North , very windy city , on the S.Side they used C to evaluate the Material then when I moved on to Scut-Dog and Slave ( myself ) institutions directly in BOS they did the same thing. so F for the CSO etc C for , well , you know
  8. i roast my own coffee , from sweet-marias and sometimes make dip Ive used a Braun gold metal filter for years to avoid all those paper 'cones ' the gold filter , on my grinders coarser setting leave some sediment in ' The Carafe Melita " you might like this feature or not like the Bodum FR Press etc w my Free Prime I decided to try this : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F8J5VKG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ie I can get anything less than $ 245 / order and get it Toot Sweet ! it works well , for me is easy to clean , all metal w some rubber to grab when hot and provides drip w very little sediment. I like it. you might like it if you are not a sediment person I am usually .... my sister in her day was not.
  9. of course : it has options to 1) Allow a specific connection 2) ask about a specific connection 3) deny a specific connection any or all for a specific application , for a specific time period or ' until app closed ' at least Id know how many times Anova was doing this or doing that. which is the idea of the app
  10. I know. thank you for suggesting that i used to Tinker , a lot. I do use an App on my iMac called Little Snitch. you would be surprised the bazillion places that want to connect to the iMac. a few even when there are no apps or browsers open.
  11. one last BTW , for now anyway : it really looks like a fine appliance , racks aside .... and , well , does it Call Home ?
  12. P.S.: Im fine w other folks enjoying WiFi BTW
  13. @Robin G " in an Android emulator, which I have used on a Windows PC. " Id rather $%*&$T&) and #$%OY$^&$)%+&+$# with some #$W%+)&$T+$ than Android anything. Ill stop there as this is a Family Newsgroup. Im on an iMac , w an ethernet cable connection to the the FiOS box in the basement. i have a number of WiFi gizmos from Verizon in boxes but have no interest in the extreme of ever setting any of them up. its just me , I know. Iv used the iPod in the past when out and about to take an occasional picture. in the previous Era.. Iv nothing against WiFi over all byt its just too insidious for my tastes
  14. OK then Can you run the ASO in the same way one an run the CSO : directly from the ovens controls ? ie 45 min , steam-bake , 400 F etc
  15. I take it the App uses WiFi , not Bluetooth ?

@Kim Shook " Could I SV it one day, refrigerate, and fry it the next? " or a few days later. but its very important to know this about SV : you might have gotten your item(s) pasteurized w enough time in The Bath , but please understand you have to rapidly chill those bags as fast as you can , w ice , and a good quantity of it too keep the bags out of The Danger Zone where they can spoil. once you udnerstand that , you are set.
  17. they make very decent grinders i have the AP 30 for my drip very easy to clean makes for a' brighter cup ' i wish them all well
