  2. Balanced? I like bitter. A Negroni is 2:1 sweet to dry. It can take a lot of bitter. I also like a Perfect Negroni -- split the Punt e Mes with a dry Dry Vermouth, like Boissiere (rather than, say, Dolin).
  3. Cocchi VdT is delicious, but by far I prefer Punt e Mes in a Negroni. I like the Cocchi with a squeeze of lemon and if I'm trying to stretch it, a bit of seltzer.
  4. So bottled rock 'n rye is rye + sugar? What is the advantage of having someone else decide how much sugar you get? Not being flip, just confused/curious.
  5. Take it next door to your good-looking neighbor. Bring two glasses.
  6. I would be less sure. That scares me, and I'm pretty brave.
  7. [Host's note: This topic is part of an extended discussion that has become too large for our servers to handle efficiently. The discussion continues from here.] +1 The Beekeeper's Apprentice is putting a serious dent in my Sibilia and Yellow Chartreuse.
  8. I treat Cardamaro more like sweet vermouth than an amaro. Montenegro isn't my favorite. I suggest you be the guinea pig for the Sibona and report back.
  9. Mmmm. Retro high end audio. Threshold FET 10 preamp and a Crown amp.
  10. I'm attracted to anything terrible. Personal failing, I'm sure.
  11. Mixing with $100 Poire William? Which team drafted you?
  12. Call 911?
  13. Use a bit of cinnamon syrup or even a few drops of extract. Plus maybe something bitter.
  14. You're a stone cold fruit killer.
  15. Hard to believe it needs the sugar cube with 1/2 oz Averna to 1 1/2 oz Scotch.
  16. Try Montenegro in lieu of other orange flavors -- Aperol, Amer Picon, triple sec, etc. It's pretty mild as amari go.
  17. Chris, you're not going to like the Wormwood Society's review of Grand Absente: http://wormwoodsociety.org/index.php/component/content/article/20-all-product-reviews/traditional-absinthe/424-grande-absente
  18. You wish. Me too.
  19. I, um, drank it while speaking Spanish.
  20. Cause? Effect?
  21. Yellowish Negroni-ish -- white rye, Vermouth del Professore, Breckenridge Bitters
  22. @Craig E - I was going to toss you out of the club until I, uh, clicked the link. Oh dear.
  23. Heat just the small cap over the flame of your range. I bet it will come off, assuming you can pull on it without burning yourself. Always works with stuck car parts.
  24. An actual atomizer makes a spray so fine that it stays in suspension as an aerosol. I am now imagining my craft bartender putting down my drink and spraying a fog of Laphroag. He has a big handlebar mustache, suspenders, and a vest, of course.
