Beet salad Serves 10 as Salad. I've made this for a couple of Heartland parties and everyone likes it. Feel free to substitute different kinds of vinegar, oil, or blue cheese. 3 lb baby beets 2 medium red onions, sliced 6 oz Maytag Blue cheese 2 T Dijon Mustard 3 T Sherry Vinegar 6 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil Salt and Pepper to taste Whisk together the mustard, sherry vinegar, salt and pepper. Slowly add the olive oil and continue to whisk to make a vinegrette. The vinegrette should be a little more acidic than normal. Add the sliced onion to vinegrette. Boil the beets until fork tender. Peel, cut them in half, and slice into half moons. Add the beets to the vinegrette and stir. Crumble the blue cheese and add 2/3 to the beets and store. Sprinkle the remaining blue cheese over the top of the salad. Keywords: Salad, Vegetarian, Vegetables ( RG734 )

My parents have folding chairs too. We're off on a meat tour of Chicago. On the agenda are Chicago Live Poultry, Joe the Sausage King, Paulina Market, and maybe Gene's. See you all tonight. -

As far as Bell's, perhaps some ale but what about porter? No Coors Light. But, PBR! assortment of bells. and coors light . We should try the wine clip on beer too, especially the coors light. -

I was talking about the recipe on the outside of my shaker, which says 1-1-1 Hardy's is my favorite inexpensive cognac. -

Should Sidecars be the official cocktail then? (2 parts cognac, 1 part fresh lemon juice, 1 part Cointreau.) I was going to make him bring some good cognac that you wouldn't want to mix , but maybe some cheaper can also be arranged. I thought a sidecar was officially 1-1-1, although I also do a 2-1-1. It's one of my favorite drinks . -

I'd go with plastic plates, silverware, and cups - but real wine glasses are nice. I'll bring some, along with a couple of extra knives and boards. -

Matthew, is there anything we need to bring? I'm going to bring some reduced veal stock along with the meat. Do you need: extra knives cutting boards pots/pans etc. wine/cocktail glasses plates/napkins/silverware thermometers Can anyone think of anything else? I wish Dave was coming with his tackle box of goodies. -
Here's the article about Shirley Corriher, Jimmy Kimmel, and Snoop Dogg deep frying various things. I forgot about the part where Jimmy makes out with Shirley.

I've PMed directions to everyone who is driving. If I forgot you by mistake please PM me. Weather forecast is sunny and mid-50s, not too bad. It looks like the only set plans are dinner Friday, Market Saturday morning, and dinner party Saturday. It looks like Saturday may be an all day cook along like Varmint's Pig Pickin, except Michelle doesn't have a maze for a kitchen. . According to Matthew Michelle is worried about her white carpeting, so please wear some nice, clean socks on Saturday along with your yellow polo shirt. -
