How horrible!

Next time you’re going after grouper, I’ll be there for dinner. Love grouper. And I’ve found it doesn’t travel well.

I overbought a tad on Misfits. Box arrived a day late, ice packs still partially frozen, all that was thawed too much to refreeze was shrimp, which will be dinner tonight. Baking stuff: More cheese. Guess Super Bowl snacks will include cheese n crackers. And passage, chorizo, Italian sausage, pork chops, and a chicken. Oh, and some more cod. Broccoli, onions, carrots, two zucchini, a cucumber, green onions. Apples, tangerines, cherry tomatoes, lemons, limes, corn. The larder is well-stocked in advance or surgery, though it remains to be seen how I'll cope with cooking.

Not fish per se, but I’m awfully fond of lobster Newberg, coquille St. Jacques, and crab imperial.

Well, I can eat cheese, Asian food and drink wine, anyway,

Well, you can tell it's been a while since I was out shopping. Hit TJ's and the International Market, when returning from Child C's today, being they are both convenient to her house. The TJ's haul: White and rose', bottles I'd never tried (the Lagranja is purely and simply because I liked the label) Ditto reds. Two bottles of the TJ Grand Reserve. Cheeses, pepperoni, cornichons, curry sauce, olive oil, rice. One batch of the International Market. Coconut milk, shrimp paste, chili paste, curry sauces, tom kha soup mix, falafel mix, fava beans. Soy sauce, canned fava beans, teriyaki sauce, soybean sprouts, Shao Xing wine, Key limes, onions. And a Misfits order due this afternoon! I'm a happy camper.

You chocolatiers astound me.

I don’t know that I believe that.

I guess basic pretty much covers it. My mother was diabetic, thus I still often serve meals without bread or dessert. However, the whole fam had good cholesterol, so fats, cheeses and red meat were all on the good list. I’m from the south, so bacon grease seasoned everything. Fresh garden veggies, cornbread, you name it. Things we didn’t have, growing up — lamb, farmed duck, asparagus, artichokes. Didn’t eat much broccoli or cauliflower or Brussels sprouts. Spaghetti was always with red sauce with ground beef. Mac and cheese was always homemade. Beef was medium well, pork was WELL done. Things we didn’t have at home much because Daddy hated them: pineapple, green peas, turkey. Never ate Chinese food until I went to college. Never had grits until I went to college. We ate a lot of game and sport fish.

Wings. Maybe latkes with caviar, since I didn’t do it for New Years. If my girlfriend I’ve invited for the weekend comes, coconut cake.

Thanks!

Didn’t notice that I had a choice. If they star in google books, that’s ok..

Haven’t tried to d/l them yet.figured that was an adventure for a completely sober morning, not a “two drinks down” evening.

It was a recipe from a blog that purported to be “authentic Filipino cuisine.” Don’t recall what blog. It’s been years.

A little Dorothy Parker for your reading/sipping pleasure: ”I can have only one martini; ”Two at the absolute most. ”Three and I’m under the table; ”Four and I’m under the host.”

Ok, I’m off to Google sisig! And could I trouble you for your favorite chicken adobo recipe? I’ve tried it, and been disappointed. welcome to the forum!

And I just realized I had typed “ground beef.” I meant Italian sausage.

Well, I couldn’t turn THAT down. Thanks!

I’ll take Kim’s raw tuna. And I just read that, got up, walked to the freezer and laid out a pound of ground beef to thaw. @Shelby — SEVEN fries??

What a beautiful house! Could we maybe see some indoor photos, especially of the kitchen, and maybe the garden areas later this year.?
-
They did. They were there about eight years, and their youngest son was born there.
