I have one of those but I never use the red thing. The debris rinses right out. Best garlic press I've ever had.

I will never again put my Anova sous vide circulator in a pot of water before checking to see that it is right side up.

Or if you're not sure, peut être.

I am sooo looking forward to this. Regarding honey, a Greek shop here sells Greek honey. It's fabulous. -

Your Daily Sweets: What Are You Making and Baking? (2017 – )

Almost enough to make me want to eat French toast. It looks and sounds delicious. -
Well, for heaven's sake! I can't believe I read the whole thing and missed that sentence. Thank you.

I got some Jiffy cornbread mix from Amazon. I read through the article and while she states the mix-in quantities, she doesn't say how much of the mix to use. Any idea? If not, I could probably just wing it.

I use buttermilk for scones. When I buy a quart, I use 1 cup in the recipes I make, and freeze the rest in baggies in one cup portions. The only thing I do when I thaw a cup is to blend the buttermilk well as freezing tends to separate it.

Do you use a teaspoon of your yogurt for the next batch?

Buy induction - you won't regret it.

I am making Flammenkuchen tonight and whenever I have made it, I have had trouble with the dough. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's been in the fridge for a couple of days, I'll take it out 3 hours before I plan to make it and see if that helps me to shape it. I have never tried to let it sit out for that long before.

I have been cooking on induction for about 10 years and will never use anything else. Along with what others are saying,I like being able to put a paper towel overthe pot whenever I am pan frying something. It catches most of the grease splatter and the added bonus is itdoesn't have to be watched because the towel can't catch fire.

Those are huge. I'm guessing they're cultivated?

Thanks! If you unmold them all at once, and assuming you don't eat them all at one sitting, how do you wrap them for freezer storage?

I never knew this topic existed. Great fun! @blue_dolphin what do you freeze your pops in? I found this book on Popsicles available free on Amazon and downloaded it, and I thought i would post the link in case others are interested. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01FYFXPZC/ref=pe_386430_122413350_TE_DP

I have had the misfortune of having had food poisoning twice. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Both times the food tasted great.

I tried that and many, many pages of books popped up, but not many cookbooks. I looked for a way to search for "cookbooks" but couldn't find one. Does that mean you have to go through t h e entire list in order to see the cookbooks they are offering to lend?

I bought birch syrup up in Cochrane once. It's very good but I haven't been able to find it around here.

Welcome to eGullet. There are lots of topics to explore and I look forward to your contributions to the ice cream topic.
