  1. I have never in my life had matcha let alone matcha ice cream. What does it taste like? (I know, I should get out more.)
  2. I'd toss it.
  3. Or 10 medium berries
  4. I have often thought that of various recipes.
  5. That's great. I used frozen ones and let them soften a bit before cutting them.
  6. It looks like an insert for a tea pot, to be used with loose tea.
  7. The strawberry ice cream is really good.
  8. I agree 100%. I now start my bread on the bread cycle in the CSO but finish baking it in my regular oven.
  9. I made a mini loaf (6" x 4 1/2") using my focaccia recipe with dried cranberries and raisins added to the dough along with some cinnamon. I had slightly too much dough which resulted in a domed sort of loaf. I would have liked more colour on the loaf. This is great stuff, toasted and slathered in butter. Next time I make it I'll add more cinnamon.
  10. That's a good question and it has me thinking. Right now, all three of my pints are in use. I keep wanting to make all these different concoctions but I'm wondering if that is due to the novelty of the machine as opposed to me wanting more than 3 pints in the freezer at a time. I should have that figured out by the time more stock becomes available in mid-October.
  11. I called what I thought was Ninja Canada but got an American Ninja agent. She checked for me when Canada would be getting more pints and it is mid-October. I see that Ninja Canada also now has them on their web site but with the notation "out of stock".
  12. Thank you, @Shelby for another interesting blog. Better get some rest between now and Dec. 1!
  13. One thing I particularly like about my induction cooktop. If I am cooking something that splatters, like bacon, I cover the area around the pan with paper towels or newspaper. Since induction does not cause fires, it's perfectly safe and the mess is contained.
  14. And then there is this..........
  15. I guess so. Whatever the brand was, all it said was tree fruit.
  16. Maybe they shipped a bunch to Canada? Yeah, right. I'm calling the Canadian branch tomorrow to ask where we can buy them. I'll post their answer. Won't help you much, I know, but it will likely be of interest to my fellow Canadians.
  17. The Ninja site shows out of stock. Nice pie!
  18. I have a couple of questions. First, those of you who have made the chocolate ince cream from either the booklet that came with the machine or from their site, can you tell me which recipes to avoid? Secondly, I was in a Mexican shop yesterday and checked out their frozen fruit purees. One of the ones they had was labeled "Tree Fruit". Does anyone know anything about this fruit? I asked the lady in the store but she had trouble explaining it in English so I thought I'd ask here.
  19. I'm very sorry to hear of this. I'll miss him and all the work he did on the Cook-off topics.
  20. I started watching this and then realized it is 44 minutes long so I'll have to watch it later. But, since there is one not too far away from @Okanagancook, I wonder if she has eaten there and can comment?
  21. I just tried the same thing. And, their Canadian site doesn't show them at all.
  22. I found them at Ninja Kitchen. I tried to copy the address but wasn't able to.
  23. Tonight I spun the mango sorbet and the strawberry ice cream. I'm very pleased with both. Neither had to be re-spun, both were very smooth and creamy. I started making some limoncello tonight in that I got the lemon peels into some vodka. I want to make the lemon ice cream in the book. Also up is the Dulce de Leche. I need more containers and Ninja Canada does not show them for purchase on their web site. I can order them from Ninja.com but I have to pay shipping and then the lot gets converted to Canadian dollars and I'll have paid an arm and a leg. Not gonna do it. I'll wait until BBB re-stocks. I'm very pleased with this little machine and can't wait to make more.
  24. Thanks for answering. I used a Thermopen and stuck it into the dead centre of the frozen mixture so I think it must be that temperature all the way through.
