Now you're also killing me. We've had a chicken brining for a couple of days. Fried chicken for Sunday dinner. Last night Thai pork lettuce wraps. With steamed buns. These were store bought and steamed from frozen and they were awful. Glad I had made some egg rolls because we couldn't eat the buns.

I'm sad, too, because my beloved shishito peppers were gone. I will miss them. I even googled to see if I could buy online just now.

I definitely want to make something like was shown to me earlier . I loved the texture of the meat I tried before. I just need to do more research and see if different types of meat can be used. My original plan was lamb and venison.

Had to go to the big city grocery today so I put ground lamb on my list so I could begin the Gyro making process. No ground lamb. No lamb at all. Ronnie doesn't think I'll find any anywhere around here. I'm eyeing the neighbor down the roads sheep....... (kidding)

@Franci I need to write the name of that fish down and hope to find some. Looks interesting! Pepperoni and sausage pizza Chicken taco salads Venison stroganoff with beans from the garden Hot wing. Really hot. Paid for that the next day lol. Had this cute little watermelon in the garden. Perfect for a Deep Run Roots meal . I made Vivian's tomato pie and the pork with watermelon. Hit the spot.

BOTH lol. Thanks for the link. I will delve in tomorrow and look. Most of you will find this weird...but I've had gyro one time in my life and I'm pretty sure it wasn't even a good one, but I loved it. I'm CRAVING one now because I saw you could order from Goldbelly. It's not as hot now and the place is in Houston so not too too far from Kansas. I really want to order. It's crazy expensive, but we don't go anywhere--even before Covid. I haven't bought anything for myself fun for ever it seems like. I dunno. I just wonder how it would ship.....

You are NOT an idiot. You have TONS on your plate --no pun intended--cooking for all of the people that won't eat one thing or another. On top of all the other things I'm sure you have to do. You're doing great!

I had never seen them before until this summer in the big city grocery store (Dillons--which is part of Kroger and I know some others....). I was shocked. I really want to make one more trip and see if they still have some. They really keep for a long time...like 2 weeks.

These are my new fave thing this summer of pandemic. I'd love to grow some...but we have trouble growing anything pepper out here. Anyway, I didn't know this topic existed! Thank you @blue_dolphin your peppers look amazing.

I've put up enough tomatoes so I'm back to making sauce for the freezer. Probably doesn't "go" together but I was out of lettuce and wanted shishito peppers so I did those with elk meatballs and vinegar cucumbers and onions. Went to the store for lettuce and decided sub sandwiches sounded good so I picked up some deli meats. I'm sure there were fries included. Fried up some catfish last night. Decided to smoke some more mushrooms and I fried them too. Worked well.

I've been thinking about this topic for a couple of days .....agonizing, trying to find some weirdness in me. Then I realized that I was having a hard time because I think everything I do is normal 🤷♀️, but when I stepped back and analyzed, I realized...I was wrong 🤣. When eating spaghetti and red sauce, I don't like the pasta all mixed in with the sauce. I like a pile of pasta with sauce on top, leaving some of the edges plain. But if eating say, an Alfredo sauce on pasta, I like it all mixed together. I peel my tomatoes --however, me and @Kim Shook truly are the most normal for doing this--the non-peelers are wrong. I like the skin that forms on top of pudding. That's it for now. I feel cleansed.

I wish they would do that here. If I had kids no way would I let them go sticking their hands in a bowl of candy that a zillion others had been in.
