i suppose i could chime in here, as i'm the one on that other thread who bought the "roto-fryer". i've used i a lot more in this second year than i did in that first year. in fact, i've used it probably 10 times over the past few months. mostly for frying potatoes and chicken wings. overall, i'm pleased with it. purists will tell you that cast iron and a thermometer are the way to go, and i have no doubt that they're getting fantastic results. however, i just throw the food in this thing and it's done in 15 minutes or whatever it takes with no splatter and no mess and no watching and no turning the flame on the stove higher and lower. given the chance to do it again, and research similar products, i can't say that i'd choose this model. however, i'm pretty sure i'd go with something electric and mess/worry-free.

i've never eaten weed. sounds like it would be right up my alley, though.

i'd like to point out that your 1001st post was complete nonsense. 13,000 more just like it and you'll catch up to me.

i've insulted myself by reading this whole thread. i shall try to interrupt myself if i feel the urge to continue. that'll *really* piss me off.

off-topic, and not unique to that particular company in the least.

i've always enjoyed tabla. floyd cardoz has a deft hand with indian spices and western techniques. or perhaps i read that somewhere. regardless, unless you're *very* hungry, i'd stay away from a tasting menu (although i'm always pro-tasting menu). every time i've had the tasting menu i've left too full. and yes, that's a bad thing. although i think i opted for the 7 course, and they do have a 5 course. you won't walk away hungry, that's for sure. i'm not sure if he's got short ribs on the menu at this point, but if he does, order them.

we should note that Project is a long-time member of egullet, and generally has thoughtful and interesting posts. i'm just hoping we don't slip into treating him like a troll or trouble-maker, as he's not. although this stuff *is* pretty funny.

i'm merely pointing out that it comes down to preference. it has nothing to do with experience on this particular website, or experience dining for that matter. fact: the reviewer heard "fuck" several times at dinner. fact: the reviewer reported this. on the one hand, some people are offended that he would use such language. on the other hand, some people think that he should simply stick to the food in his reviews. i'm suggesting that he was being helpful in reporting that he heard "fuck", as some people might be put-off by that kind of language, and therefore might want to avoid that restaurant. personally, i have no problem with it, but i can appreciate that some people might. beyond that, of course, i suggested that if people don't like his style of reviews, they should steer clear of them. that suggestion shouldn't be taken personally.

i think he's did a great service by letting potential customers know that they might hear "fuck" at Augustino's. if you don't want to hear "fuck", don't go.

it seems that not many people are agreeing with Project on this one. however, i've heard that there are plenty of posters who share these opinions at www.ihatemyselfforeatingatwendys.com

since not everyone thinks his comments were inappropriate (clearly there's not just one barometer for this), i suppose it comes down to preference. if you don't like his reviews, don't read his reviews. and don't read mine either, as you probably won't like the way i write.

there's another internet cafe on about 48th right west of broadway.

it should be noted that not all of mr. giglio's reviews read like this. i thought it was a nice departure. and knowing Augustino's, i *really* got a kick out of it.
-
i enjoyed his review. i guess i understood the spirit in which it was written. and i'm sure Sharon did, as well.

growing up a huge fan of The Who, it was always easy for me to remember which symbol was masculine. without that connection, however, i would have been doomed to years of embarrassment. plus, the feminine symobl looks like a skinny lady with one big boob.

esca's linguini w/ clam dish ranks as one of my all-time favorite dishes. perfect.

it's windy alright. and cold. clear skies, though.

the entire state of NJ, until very recently, was made up of 2 area codes. hardly a situation where the operator should magically know the city. you're losing me here. but i think we're getting off topic anyway.

glad to see someone did some research.

the cruel irony is that i did most of my pot smoking when i was broke. i do recall grilled cheese being a big hit after some big hits.

i'd like to know if the full cost of these returns is really being absorbed by the manufacturer. if not, the prices at WS should come as a shock to no one.

a guy i knew ordered his Quarter Pounder well done. he was a mean little fella, who also happened to manage a McDonalds. i don't have to tell you how pissed he'd get when the useless cashier would just grab a plain ol' burger from the bin. and i can assure you that his insistence that the burger was not well-done went right over the workers' heads. edit: i'm just going to give up on spelling altogether. it's clearly getting worse as the years go on.

"buoys" and "gulls" at a mediocre seafood restaurant in Point Pleasant, NJ (one of Jack Baker's places), and probably any number of other similarly-themed places. maybe i'm old fashioned, but i like "men" and "women". no silly pictures. no plays on words. the last thing i want to do is stare at two or more doors looking clueless when i'm going for the bathroom.
