    White Rose System? it's in highland park. other than that, i can't help you. or anyone for that matter.
  6. for clarification, White Rose System is different from the other "whites". as daniel suggests above, they're not small and square. i found this out the hard way back in college, when i wanted to go to White Castle on the way back from New Brunswick, and my friend brought me there instead. i never forgave him. can we assume the new Edison place is simply a "White Rose"?

  8. frozen beer? i don't think i've ever had it. doesn't sound too good. to restate, i like an ice cold beer in a frosty mug. i thought that's what we were discussing. if not, my apologies.

  11. me too, as far as the discovery goes (thanks, in part, to egullet). i almost always use italian tuna packed in oil, with a tiny bit of mayo, and various other things, depending on my mood and stock, on a baguette. however, i sometimes use the regular ol' starkist, with mayo, celery, white bread, old-school style. it's a completely different animal and sates a different desire.

    Riedel "O" Series

    as reported by the New York Times here. i recall Tabla, in NYC, serving wine in glasses like these about 5 years ago when it first opened. after much protest, and probably too many explanations to purists, they switched to traditional glasses. personally, i don't like the stemless glasses because i end up getting finger prints all over the bowl.

  19. i think he's referring to the pork pictured in this post. no dried shrimp from what i know. it's a pork shoulder in a sweet red sauce.

    Hoboken's not entirely a culinary wasteland. There are a few good restaurants. yes, there are a few notable exceptions. and in the 22 months since that post, a few might have sprung up.
  23. tell her she *deserves* to have her name in it. my Fort Lee friends have talked about her old place for years now. she's a legend.
  24. the bone issue is found in that chicken with the hot peppers as well. at least at the 2nd ave branch. you end up eating it with your fingers. a lot of work, but it's good.
