Puzzle of prized white truffle finally yields to science

I had no idea that the large percent of black lones were "cutivated". Doubt they'd spend so much research time & money if the market were not strong. Thanks. -
Pretty cool - judge cited the late man in denying a Proud Boy defendant's request for change of venue https://www.businessinsider.com/judge-cited-anthony-bourdain-ruling-over-accused-capitol-rioters-request-2022-7 The iconic TV personality added: "This is a city filled with actual living, breathing, eating Americans. Not vessels for one ideology or another, empty suits and empty ideas. Hard lives, hard struggles, and long roads to get here."

We never roasted a chicken at home. Sunday dinner (lunch really) was to go to Slavko's Poultry after mass. So good. "Broasted" chicken and potatoes with plenty of coleslaw - life was briefly good https://www.zmenu.com/slavkos-san-pedro-online-menu/.

@Martin Fisher so sir does Tomatovillian™ have input? It is all money making fodder for lawyers as companies fight for market share - in my view. If you are totally bored for reading material, this pleading in a Mastronardi case against a competitor about another tomato TM gives some interesting perspective on what matters. https://casetext.com/brief/mastronardi-produce-ltd-v-lakeside-produce-inc_motion-for-preliminary-injunction Mastronardi does state that the packaging is a big part of the marketing "There is no one who would mistake our packaging and design for that of Naturesweet" in a lawsuit with another company. I know that, visually challenged, I reached for that familiar packaging and presentation. And the flavor was as expected - good. ETA: the statements on page 24 about customer confusion I found pretty lame

Silly me thought it a punctuation issue. I inferred the grilled lamb on a bun with salad.

@Kerala cooked out on the grill is BBQ'd here in Southern California as well. "Come on over we are having a BBQ"

The ones I posted (w/o mark) state greenhouse hydroponically grown so theoretically maybe even in your region is possible. I think maybe the packaging has become their mark.

Well Piglet caved at Ralphs (Kroger) yesterday. These are labeled Private Selection which is a Kroger thing.

There is a great scene in bottle Shock where the vintner does indeed do that at his law office when he realizes his chardonnay is not screwed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottle_Shock

OMG people bring up Moosewood as classic but that is beyond classic. I'd forgotten it - so powerful in the day

Rarely go to one these days but for many years my standard was a cabbage-noodle salad. People still ask about it "what was that salad you used to make?" Napa cabbage and fresh Chinese noodles. Proportions to taste. Rough recipe - Cabbage as main ingredient slice cross wise Noodles - fresh Chinese - yellow in color, thicker than spaghetti with a good chew so maybe alkaline? Simmer to taste with splashes of soy sauce in the water. In a plastic bag in every Chinese market I've been to Add-ins: halved grapes, green onion, cucumber Dressing: Chinese Chicken Salad dressing like Girards or make own, mayo, rice or cider vinegar if it needs more zing. Holds up a long time. ETA: some Dijon or some pickled ginger (any type) is nice too

Oh sterno! Even outdoors the smell makes me nauseous

Upon reflection I think I only did it once to show her how to use it (not a baker). The ridges were distinct but the cake was the poppyseed on back of Solo can so a dark exterior that did not make most of pattern. Maybe with a light colored cakes and a dessert table to how off intact prior to serving if you care about that.

Aawww mom loves you! The squid!

Your Daily Sweets: What Are You Making and Baking? (2017 – )

I get that. My dad and his wife refused to throw away the prune juice they accidentally bought thinking it was grape. He drank some a month or so ago - massive runs. Had some more couple days ago. So the man with hospitalized diverticulitis several years ago who does not follow the dietary directives is shocked at bloody massive diarrhea. Turned out not a disaster but - but they finally tossed it. I know the prune was not the reason but maybe a tipping point to an about to happen episode. Never a bleepin dull moment. -

I am so so tired of people on about how things are "supposed to be". I'd have pitched the cake in a public bin on the way home. Gish she really mad it all about you - NOT Your berry sweets are nice. I am sure they highlighted the berries well. -
Interesting. I had no idea they were a variety. I assumed (insert chuckle) that they were a brand. I've never looked past the consistent packaging of rectangular plastic shell with each one separate w/ bit of stem end still on. Never checked for distributor or marketer. Maybe with recent supply chain issues and info on the consolidation of supply - think Driscoll berries - we are more conscious. I have not been buying them recently as i am such a tomato piglet I'd be through a container in a day or so.

So canned/jarred a-chokes? My friends and I were very fond of using the Trader Jos frozen artichoke hearts in such dishes - not sure if they still carry as I can't get there.
