Looks like the cornbread cooked in a pre triangled pan? Like all the edges. I love all greens but have never had rutabaga -

Mushroom asada may need explanation. I did loot up. Did you use portabellos or another larger meaty shroom like King Oyster? The other elements don't trend Mexican though I like them. Perhaps I am thinking falsely of only carne asada and such. I'm there at your table though

Oh have not had them in forever. Used to be able to get several pounds frozen at local markets at reasonable prices but have been deprived in recent years. Yes also enjoy mustard sauce though I do it withsome good mayo.

    do you toast the seeds?
  6. Not exactly a Covid conscious gift considering the brand's behavior
  7. But somebody has to raise/grow/process the food and those are some of the least Covid protected folks
  8. @blue_dolphin I think you hit on the basis of some refusals - still in the early Pandemic mindset of touch transmission on items when gloves were the commodity in short supply. Learning process
  9. its great - Soviet concrete meets South West adobe dwelling. Like the scene. Did you have fun and will we see some of the others?
  10. I was also shocked when I first went to Kartuz. But every one of those tiny things turned into lusty grownups. They know what they are doing https://www.kartuz.com/
  11. Its just rye to bring up the green since we are getting rains. Evaristo knows what he is doing - trusted him for years.
  12. Giving it a -pass this year again. When I called an elderly friend to see if she had a good calamansi crop for my baklava she said they'd re-seeded the lawn and access to lovely tree was a mud hole, and please don't tempt me - my blood sugar is out of control...Same with the elderly next door neighbors. Service people like mail place, pool guy, trash guy, gardener etc I've taken to giving baked goods randomly during the year - sort of surprises them and they seem to like that. I may do some baklava (forcing self to buy lemons) and Linzer bars, and pumpkin bread as we roll into 2022. (first time I've typed that!)
  13. In our discount and Latin focused markets their products are comparable to Hostess at a lower cost and usually more interesting. Hey I was feeding active voracious young boys - they burned it right off.. Think like twinkies and such.
  14. Aw give the darling rosies their treat - They eat the fruits?- or just like to hang out?
  15. Ah I see now. Personally I'd go a little bigger on the pot. Again good luck.
  16. You will probably feel like "oh gawd I've killed it now". But of you don't do something it may perish. The method I was taught and used at our Botanic Garden is pretty simple: 1. With your hands strip all the roots that are very yellow and lifeless looking. 2. Pull off the ones that faced the bottom of the pot or cut off a few inches if the roots were sitting at bottom of pot. They need space. 3. With a serrated knife cut maybe 4 around perimeter about 1-1/2 to 2' deep. 4. Stick your thumbs in there and pull apart enough to give the rootball breathing space 5. Re-pot in nice medium and feed Best of luck!
  17. Oh my! Needs a bit of a haircut and pull apart
  18. We faced the transition. Egg prices skyrocketed initially and then leveled out. https://www.thegazette.com/agriculture/california-law-is-transforming-egg-industry-producers-say-will-it-do-the-same-for-pork/
  19. And if you others never saw it - maybe not all "old style" but a good read -https://forums.egullet.org/topic/151678-singapore-and-brief-excursion-to-thailand-food-blog/
  20. I "won" a Malaysian cookbook on @Abra's blog once that trended similarly - gone in the great moving again garage sale. I did have a wonderful pamphlet cookbook that hit the right notes - the kind you get at check out stand (Oz) - I must find it. It was all good. Thanks for the link.
  21. I think my sister has seen every decent allergist , naturopath, alternative medicine, etc person in Sydney. Always manifests in skin. Gets much better when she returns to visit in US. Tricky and often contradictory business. Stepmother shriekingly voiced a phobia the other day when there was a blood spot in the egg she cracked for breakfast and again 2 days later. She threw the eggs in the trash. I did not even try to get her to see reason. Yes brown eggs which she does not usually buy - harder to see in grading process.
  22. I had to laugh this morning at Ralphs/Kroger. I saw this Philadelphia Cream cheese shortage promo yesterday. Then this morning out of curiosity I checked supply. "sale" 2 for $4. I never buy it so no idea regular price. Media influence... https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/15/business/cream-cheese-shortage-dessert/index.html
