Percyn, your bacon sounds mouth-watering! Lynnette, do keep us posted on your renovations, sounds like it will be beautiful. French Onion Soup, from the pot I made a couple of days ago. Steaming and loaded with ooey-gooey cheese, crusty garlic Italian toast, and fragrant onions, Yum! -
B. Thank you so much! I have had the same issues as you, and never was able to come up with a solution that satisfied me. I will be trying your method next time.

Prawn, I ordered the fish from Catalina Offshore Products, While the shipping costs nearly floored me, (you know your an e-gulleter when....) The seafood was reasonabley priced. Very fresh, tho frozen, the ikura was sublime, the salmon was just amazing, very buttery/avacadoish, and the tuna was melt in your mouth delish. Just bizarre what one will do to satisfy a craving! I had also ordered uni on a previous occasion, and it was quite possibly the best I have ever had, and much less expensive than you would think, before shipping, that is. I will deffinately do it again, and again, and again......just not too often. $$$$$ MiFi, Wow, fantastic looking meals, bright and beautiful.

Mona, I love my knife, almost as much as my horses. Judiu, you made me laugh out loud! Still giggleing.............the "purple thing" is tuna and bad lighting! My camera is still giving me a headache, even after the shop. Trust me, the colores were NOT that shocking, well, maybe the pickled daikon was......... Ted, that trout looks amazing, the boys often bring trout home, I will have to look up that recipe.

Prawn, Does your wife share???? Beautiful! Mona, YUM! I am having visions of pulling off that skin and devouring it while no-one is looking. Shelby, great pics, I can almost taste that salsa. Jamie, looks great. Sashimi dinner, with various pickle and rice. (I have learned to order on-line and make the things I crave that I can't get around here.) The ray of sunshine through the clouds.

I love the salmon pics, and prawns.........homesickness sets in for the coast, *sigh*. Bruce, beautiful soup. Delectible looking meatballs. (Sandwich time!) Sweetbreads, my first time. It's just one of those things you Have to try, after reading all the praises. I followed the suggestions found on egullet, and served on arugula with a butter, lemon, mushroom and caper sauce. They were very like beef fat in texture and taste. Is this the way they are supposed to be, or did I do something wrong?

Emily, just lovely! Feeling a little peekid today, so I made french onion soup. Yum! Allways seems to just hit the spot.

I was Ravenous this morning, after a loooong night of searching for my escaped horses, who turned up ON the front porch this morning looking rather smug and demanding breakfast! Artery clogging, greasy, completely satisfying breakfast porn.........blood sausage, onions and mushrooms, (cheater frozen) hashbrowns, heirloom tomato, crusty Italian bread toast, and egg. All fried in butter and bacon greese, Of course. Ahhhhhhhhh, it's good to be home! Isn't life delicious! -
I went with my teen son to the Arkansas State Championship HillBilly Chili Cook-Off in Bull Shoals today. What a Blast! (on way to many levels ) This was my first time attending one of these events, and I completely enjoyed myself. There were live bands, vendors, raffles and hundreds of people. And of course, there was chili. We sampled the entrys of all twenty competitors, and frankly, I wasn't impressed by any of them. They all lacked in salt and heat, many of the ones with beans were nearly raw, and most were entirely tasteless. Several of the entrants told me that they were told to "dumb down" the samples for the public, believing that our delicate palates would be offended by actual flavor. I have honestly had better chili from a can, any can. Has anyone here ever entered one of these contests? I would love to learn if there are restrictions to heat and seasonings, and what the insider feelings are on this. I took pics of the event, but unfortunately, my batteries died just before the chili started. I do have a couple of really culturally entertaining pics for you tho. You just Gotta Love the Ozarks!!!! (edited to try and figure out my pic problem)

*tap, tap, tap, tap, tap,................* That is the sound of my foot, of it's own accord, against the hardwood floor impatiently waiting for some input here! I have opinions, but these are based, I find, upon personal dislikes of certain participants.................therefore, I am uncertain that my thoughts on this episode are alltogether well formed. I am not sorry that ************** has left us. ***** lost my loyalty long ago when (said person) left loyalty (said persons self). I noticed that Padma is trying for a more aproachable persona. I actually found myself being drawn into her "cuteness"! Go figure, she truly had inspired daggers in my thoughts to this point. I am left shaking my head trying to sort the various fragments of thought regarding this episode. Mostly, I am dissapointed, I guess I expected anything that the revered AB appeared in to floor me and leave me speachless with delight. All I feel is "ho-hum" about this week. Please, post your oppinions and enlighten me! (edited because I am a complete Bonehead and posted Spoilers!!) Please forgive, all that read before?..

Once again, Bravo and Bravo! Thank you both for voiceing so perfectly many of our thoughts.

Bruce, that looks "freaking delicious"!! No pic, lazy dinner and not worth bothering for. Looks wise, that is, but tastes great. Bloody Maria Salad. (Somehow, the resulting juice in the bottom of the glass just hit the spot) Hey, maybe That is why there is no worthy pic! *hic*
-
Kevin, I agree with you. While I did watch it, out of curiosity because I didn't for the previous two seasons, I was dissapointed. Somehow, they seemed to make nearly every contestant, past and present, appear to be whining, egocentric, immature, snarkey and unprofessional babies. Seeing it from this point of view, I have come to believe that none of the chefs were picked for ability, but for controversial personality quirks. I am sorely dissapointed and have no desire to begin a new season with this series. I am sure I will watch to the end, just because, but no more. What we need in it's place would be another AB series, I can't get enough of him.

Where is that little green smiley?! EEEYYYUUUU! Having stepped on my share in Pac.N.W., generally in bare feet, of course, and spending an hour trying through the curses, to scrape them from between my toes...........I reiterate.....EEEWWWWUUUU!!!!!!!

Jackal10, Congrats! That looks even less appetising than the snails.........or maybe what the snails left behind? Yuck!
