  2. Just checked my voicemail and it appears that all of the other chefs have dropped out of the dinner and the menu is going to change. Waiting to hear back from Robert B. Edit: Anyone know why the other chefs bowed out.
  3. Darwin award??? or ALDaily (broken power cord. Treo'ing it. sorry) Edit2: Quotes suck
  4. I would try infusing the bourbon(with ginger 1*) for maybe 3-5 weeks and then playing with it. In additon you could make a simple syrup with sugar and ginger, but instead of using h20 use everclear or high proof vodka let it sit for a month. Then you would have a nice infusion to dash into other libations. (chives make a nice addition IMHO) The ginger tincture may add a better taste to it as opposed to a muddled version. I would highly suggest making a tincture of ginger. (Ignore the spelling and other mishaps. My powerbook power adapter broke. Henceforth I am using a Treo. So until I receive the adapter from A.Care have a good one.) Edit: 1*(with ginger 1*)
  5. I can't beleive people are outraged that he was showing people where our food really comes from. Well yeh I guess I can understand it, plenty of hoople-heads out there. The disconect people have with food is getting a littly crazy. Anyone know if Bourdain was chastised for the scene on No R.

  8. but I used the actual legitimate product name as it appears on their website for ordering the thing, Hassett ... so there! Ha! That is why it is a tie, I used the wrong term thus costing me a minute off of my score.
  9. "Special teardrop shape originated in Italy's Umbria region. A safe and easy way to scoop pasta or vegetables directly from boiling water. No need to tilt and drain the whole poy." from: http://www.ikitchen.com/vilscoopcol4.html So your guess of pasta was correct.
  10. 8:40 and 8:41 is a photo finish . not a tie ... curses, foiled again! ← Ah but you did not call it a strainer as I did thus subtracting a minute from my score.
  11. It is an Umbria Strainer http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...fari%26rls%3Den Look under products linear
  12. In an equally ridiculous extreme how about this shirt? Foie Gras = Duck Rape ← Equally ricidulous? Sorry, I find nothing ridiculous at all in the statement "I love foie gras" or similar statements. On the other hand equating foie gras or the processes involved in producing foie gras to rape is not only ridiculous but offensive. If offends my sense of logic and reason and it should offend rape victims. consumer is an irrational target of emotional argument made without understanding or investigation. The most convincing argument against foie gras might be that it's unethical to eat meat at all. If we're to consider the quality of life of the animal up until death, then ducks rasied for foie gras might be among the last to be banned. ← Thank you for these comments Robert. They state what I would say, just in a much more eloquent manner

  18. Running a site of this magnitude requires extensive testing. Therefore it is commendable that the staff tests the site from the view of a general member. If there were posts made under that name it would be a different issue, but as I see it it is just basic site upkeep. IMHO Edit: any member who wants to "hide their presence" can log in as an anonymous member.
  19. Cool, now how does one order these dishes as a tasting.
