When I'm home I'm more likely to be lugging the kid around at the cocktail hour - and with a drink on board I find myself a little weaker. So I'm less likely to have one.

If you were to read my list of things to bring up north in October - you would see it reads Freeze Dried Orange rind for cocktails. Great minds! Looking forward to getting back to my freeze dryer now that it's prime harvesting time.

Going to miss my cocktails when I get home!

The first of our two cocktails tonight - just small ones - I miscalculated the amount required for those mickey bottles for next trip - so have a small amount of The Brother's Perryman and a Negroni (not 'barrel' aged) for tonight.

Of course last fall we did the same - and then we didn't get into the condo for a couple of days!

Premixed cocktails to be at the front of the locked cupboard for our return in October. Just add ice (and flamed orange rind to the Brother's Perryman).

Working on leftovers - some breads slices from the freezer, the Max Burt bacon that hadn't yet been fried up, the last of the rather sad but very ripe, tomatoes and the heel of the cheese. With Miracle Whip I must tell you!

But the game is trying to figure out what Sheldon will find wrong with our answers before he posts again!

But wait - we haven't clarified if he wants brown eggs, white eggs or green eggs.

Cream now completely used up with a double batch of Cream Scones (thanks Tikidoc).

Ah yes - always a popular time when Crystal is in town. Next weekend is Country Fest - not sure if she sticks around for that or not.

I had a lovely evening at Myra and Pierre's log home - there were 5 of us for dinner and it was pretty much home grown. The lamb leg. Green beans, with shallots and tomatoes. Potatoes also from the garden. Cell phones are a little limited for this kind of picture - but the full moon was quite beautiful on the drive home. Not however looking forward to call tomorrow with Haweater weekend starting up, Wiki Powwow and a full moon! Recipe for potential disaster.

The birthday cake for work today. Icebox cake made with the bourbon biscuit base baked in rounds. Chantilly cream and canned cherry pie filling Chocolate curls. The angel's share.

Toasted struan bread with cheese with blackcurrant and raspberry preserves. This bread makes fabulous toast!

Anna said no one would get it!

We shall have to ask Jonathan Swift - I suspect he'd say a modest temperature!

A Golden Dawn - sweet but quite palatable. Not quite the delight last night promised. A visit from the grandson of one of Kira's sitters - just before he got his butt totally stuck in our sous vide bucket! And after he got both feet in then fell over! What a delightful child - "I'll miss you Kira" he said on his way out.

My lunch from Andy's sub shop in Wiki. Grilled chicken club sub (try to say that fast 5 times). Was very tasty - I'm not a traditional sub fan.
