After Soma several of us headed back to the Master Class and the rest of us to the distillery district for lunch and visit to a few shops. Lunch was at Cluny - Rodney's BFF is the pastry chef there and he arrived part way through our lunch so came out to say hello. Bread basket - the smell was quite amazing. Most of the gang had the braised short rib sandwich. I chose frites And asparagus frites. Tea is served in a proper tea pot - what's not to love. And pastry chef Chris Kwok sent us out two of these lovely platters of goodies topped with a cloud of grape candy floss. -

I'll have to get others to post pictures of the Morato demo - I was too busy gabbing to everyone I hadn't seen in a year, and people I 'knew' but had never met to remember to take any pictures. But I've got a couple of pictures of dinner at Mengrai Thai All that was left on the appetizer plate by the time I remembered to take the picture. Number 54 for me - the red thai curry with lychee and pineapple. What ever Rodney chose for dinner - did I mention I'm bone tired and my brain isn't functioning. It looks darn good what ever it was. -

Pies or buckles - they use a lot of fruit and are expensive to make - unless you have unlimited fruit!

I suspect you can - I wonder if I could get an idea about the numbers of cars? I have to run down to College Street on Friday am from 8:30-9:15 to videotape exams for the College of Family docs - should get back to hotel by 10 I hope. Lets figure out car numbers - then maybe Uber the rest. -

Reservations made for 20 people - question came up if we want to do prix fixe menu for $40 before tax or order ala carte -said I'd get back to him. Prix fixe would be a bunch of apps, soup, variety of mains, dessert. Thoughts? -

I think since people will be coming from all over the place to Morato we we probably just end up milling around outside the auditorium until they let us in - don't know if we'll sit as a block or all over. Probably have to play it by ear. Soma - parking sucks! Goûter - free and should be reasonable amount of spots - particularly later Friday and Saturday for Shabbat. -

SOMA is 11 am at - as you note 35 Golden Ave. The folks for the Master's class will make their way to Goûter (3507 Bathurst) and the rest of us will go check out some other chocolate shops (I'd better get working on where to go!). Pizza night/show and tell - also at Goûter - likely starting around 7 I suspect by the time they clean up after the masters class. -
