  1. Here is something I dont know what the vinegar is for, but it seems similar to what I had read. The key behind a neat marbling in the article was a light background color and then a marbling of another color. Also, you can draw on your eggs with a wax crayon (clear if you want) and then dye it. the wax rub off afterwards and leave a white space. Ben
  2. I think they used olive oil, but I imagine you could use canola or something like that. Ill see if ye old internet will reveal any more details.
  3. No, I am pretty sure I am not diabetic. I just sort of get kinda shaky if I dont eat for a while. I am sure it is because of a drop in blood sugar, but not a result of eating sugar. Ben
  4. On the coloring side, I hear if you dye the egg a background color, let it dry, then mix some oil in with a contrasting color and dye the egg again, you will get a cool marbling pattern. I think this was in a Martha Stewart Living article, but am not sure. Ben
  5. I also want a flying car to go get my donuts in.
  6. I get the shakes by 9:00 am if I dont eat breakfast.

    Dinner! 2003

Seared pork rib chops with maple bourbon flamed asian pears. Green beans on da side. I think I created the largest fireball in my kitchen yet last night! Yikes! Ben
  8. Yeah, I have seen it called Skim Supreme. I do think it tastes better than regular skim, but give me whole instead. Also, my grandpa was a strong proponent of half and half in cereal. I strongly agree, but cannot justify the fat bomb that it is. Ben
  9. As far as weight gain, I think it would depend on how much of it you drink. If you guys drink milk like crazy, you may wish to use 2% or 1%, but if you just use it from time to time, go with whole. I think that whole tastes much better and try to buy organic milk as well. I used to drink a ton of milk, but am now using it mostly in cooking or the ocasional bowl of cereal. Ben
  10. You should rent it out for eGullet excursions.
  11. So what can I do to persuade you to recreate the Haas bar?
  12. Yep, Zeitgeist is where the Top Pot people got their start. FYI, Zeitgeist has wireless internet access if you are so inclined. They also have great coffee. Ben
  13. That menu sounds wonderful! I certainly wish I could have gone and will continue to do so as the rest of these reviews pour in. Ben

  17. Damn. I would have whacked him with a frying pan long ago. I wonder how he came to be such a picky person. Ben
  18. My aunt makes pasties, but there have never been any nipples under these ones. They are a meat pie that resembles a calzone in shape. Hers are filled with a beef stew like mixture including beef, onions, potatoes, carrots, and a thick sauce. Some people like tons of ketchup on it, but I can't stand it. Ben
  19. As opposed to the goody-two-shoes solids.
  20. Awesome, yeah Anderson Brewing is great! Boont is the schnizzle fo' rizzle! Ben
  21. Suvir, are you interested in how spices play in to Pastry? It seems to me that there has been more experimentation in that realm due to the trend of bridging savory ingredients with pastry. This generally leads to traditionally savory spices being infused with part of the dessert. Ben
  22. Hmmm, I think that you mihgt be able to sneak in a camelback due to its slim profile, but the flask idea is proven. Also, instead of taking more 80 proof liquor, go with highproof rum! Ben
  23. You think that I would do something so silly! I bet a camelback drinking system would work like a charm..
