    Dubbawhat?

Yeah, and many times this trip begins out in the countryside where the office workers live. It is freakin crazy. Ben

    Dubbawhat?

Great article! I saw a special on the Discovery chanel or something that had a segment on these guys. It was incredible! The staggering thing was the extremely low cost combined with the distance from home to office every day. Ben
  4. I bet taking him one would convince him pretty darn quick. Oh yeah. Ben
  5. Hey, did you ever try out that other natural soda?

    Leg of Lamb

Yeah, I found this rosemary bush in the park and have been nabbing a few branches lately just for this purpose. It smells really great and adds a nice subtlety to the meat. shhhh dont tell the park people.
  7. Show off!!!
  8. E-mail is not a problem at all. Ben
  9. I actually did bring some home for a friend of mine. Next time (there's always a next time with family in the area) I'll bring back more. Also, I should mention that it is available online at http://www.kreuzmarket.com -- for the same price as it is at the actual place: $8.90/lb. However, 2-day shipping and materials will run you $48 for up to 16 lbs. Yes, $48. Cheaper than a plane ticket!
  10. I love Wayne Harley Brachman. What a career! Edit: Meant to add that I loved your first line, mamster, and the rest of the article too. He he he, he seems like a fun guy. I did want to throttle him though when he was on Melting Pot. I think the soul patch pushed me over the edge. Ben

Toss some sprigs of rosemary on the fire while you grill it. ohh yeah. Ben
  12. That sounds pretty sweet. Something to be considered for sure. I keep picturing the Simpsons episode where bart is a French exchange student. His host family is two guys on a farm that got him to replace their old donkey. He had to sleep on a pile of hay.

  18. The other day,I went to Tangletown, the Eleysian Brewery's new Greenlake outpost. The menu does not appear to be much more than standard sandwiches and other pub grub, but look a little closer. We ended up having some pretty great examples of some classic pub grub. Fish and Chips- I got these, just because they sounded good at the time. They turned out to be fabulous. Very nice crisp batter around nice pieces of Cod. Not too hot inside either, I dug in right away. The batter had a nice malty flavor too. The fries, oh the fries. Big fluffy steak fries with a crispy exterior. I am down with these fries. The thing that tied it all together and sealed the deal was their tartar sauce. Man, this was good tartar sauce. It was nice and smooth with a great tang. I dont like chunks of pickle in my tartar so the smoothness of this really appealed to me. A friend of mine also ordered the Fish and chips and commented favorably on the tartar. BBQ Brisket sandwich- Sadly, I did not think this was as good as the rest. The brisket was a bit dry and not very smoky. The sauce tasted a bit weak too. My friend seemed fairly happy with it though. It also had the good fries...perhaps that is why. Turkey Sandwich- Katie had this and really loved it. It had apricots in the sandwich that really blended well with the turkey. She let me have a bite and I would definately order this in the future. Katie opted for a salad instead of fries, the salad was properly dressed with a vinagrette and appropriately tasty. Meatball Sub- I didnt get to taste this one, but when I asked my buddy about it, he replied "Thats-a spicy meat-Ball!" and went back to devouring it. Beer- we had a pitcher of their cask conditioned Pale ale. Slightly hoppy, crisp, with a smooth maltiness. The cask conditioning of this added a bit of welcome oakiness to this beer (not for mamster). Nice and fresh, but the head on it was a bit weak. Overall, I would certainly check this place out if you are looking for a nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy some classic pub food prepared well. And you can actually find parking in this neighborhood! Ben Edit to add bolding, why do I always forget that?
  19. Joe H, do you have any favorite ways of preparing a hamburger yourself? You are very passionate about them and I am willing to bet you can make a mean burger. Ben

  23. I think we are going to continue to see a lot more of this back to basics vibe in the next couple years.
  24. I find myself in Spokane from time to time and I know the Dicks you are talking about. For some crazy reason, I have never eaten there. I used to go through Spokane on family trips and always remember the panda sign and seeing the tons of people with their bag of burgers. I hereby vow that next time I am in Spokane, I will be sure to get me some Dicks! Ben
  25. I think we need to get the management to add Root Beer Float day to the calendar. Ben
