  1. Which other guy? Ehren Jordan of Turley? i did not see the program so i cannot comment. is it availalbe online? it is strange because i checked with l'epicier - no turley i checked with turley - no l'epicier and he was never planning to come! a wine like turley doesnt do a lot of promotion it is highly allocated we are lucky to have somehere at saq inspite the high price they do maybe one dinner each year for charity but that is all
  2. sorry if i am not clear turley cellars is not coming to this dinner event hosted by Laurent Godbout. There are 5 California chefs and 3 cali wineries. you mention two of the wineries correctly but one is wrong: instead of turley it is ironhorse.
  3. very sorry lesley YOU ARE not correct there is no turley cellars there is another winemaker instead from ironhorse vineyards we dont have these wines at saq they make excellent sparkling wines as well as some red and white table wines thank you
  4. hi lesley thanks is there a web site to buy tickets
  5. tomorrow the 26th the 1999 Valandraud wines is going to be 25% on sale at the SAQ SIGNATURE.
  6. alert! a new event was added to aide charity the host is LAURENT GODBOUT from L'EPICERIE and VERSION it will feature big wines from California there will be big winemakers present if anyone have more details please post it! the cost is $300 or $400 for VIP which means the big winemaker is sitting with you for dinner
  7. so what is the news with Eigensinn? Is it still open? how can one make a reservation there?
  8. casual atmosphere + great food + great wines at value and splurge levels this is the UK formula too bad we dont see this in canada
  9. be sure it is the best (unfortunate also most expensive) byo resto this means you can bring your own nice bottle of wine to go with super food but there is no charge to open the bottle like corkage in usa they have good quality wine glasses to match your nice bottles to pay for all this the food is not cheap. this is not like the image of BYO in montreal which is cheap food for a local dinner see the web site for the kind of food it is very good location is trendy mile end with a lot of studios and fashion and bars crowd is wine lovers with a big budget you will see some grand wines open at the tables next to you so this is more a place of good strong flavors to go with wine the owner have another 2 restos, one cheaper (O THYM) one almost in the same range (LES INFIDELES) that have more complex foods including excellent foie gras and amazing duck from quebec. this resto is older so not as fancy and a bit cheaper than a l'os next to it is BU a wine bar that locals like but it is not a favorite for me
  10. Bice above the rest.......... or petits extra good food at both wine list? quantity will make the quality forget itself
  11. vikram vij from vancouver? this is the place of one of my best meal ever better than benares in london which have a michelin star vij is a genius for ehtnic indian food but more sophisticated with a mix of french styles (he use some wine with his cooking, very rare for indian food) riad nasr is in fact coming home i think he used to work here before balthazar is probably the best quality high production kitchen in the world, they serve hundreds of cover each day with amazing quality, maybe 6 services each day. amazing! this will be great
  12. its on the site $295 includes tax and tips i wish i could go i wil be travelling
  13. bymark is #1 then another place on avenue road i forget the name
  14. you dont need a fDa# that is so stupid just show up at the airport with the full invoice of the wines you are importing and it will be ok believe me i do this every week and there is no way to save money in alberta if your residence is ontrario!

    Dover Canyon

wow that is a great honor any idea if these wines are going to be distributed in canada
  16. fagioli - you have a good idea that it is better for quebeckers to keep it more franco since the tourists like this. it is good for the image. even if you see the tourism publicite BONJOUR QUEBEC! they have in the USA to bring toursts to quebec it is very funny like an old publicite from 1970s, very low budget and like a petite village. stiill the resto web site must have a menu and a wine list. this is important since for wine lover in the usa with big $ to spend, apdc has a nice list to go with their not unconsitent food and bads service. this is the best thing about the resto as well as big man picard who make it a fun time and distract from the bad service and unstable foods. many times i had oysters and they did not clean them well. but wash this with raveneau and it put a smile back.
  17. yes it is free now thank you it works did u review the new cube? i am hearing rumors it is excellent. who owns it? the holder brothers i hear?
  18. lesley did you review it yet
  19. skip laloux go to pop next door younger more friendly i didnt see degustation at laloux
  20. most people do not use a resto web site to remember their good times there. a better thing for this is a photo. a web site must have updated menus. a resto does not usually make brochures in case you dont know that, and beleive me apdc has enough business to afford a good web site. if they are too cheap to post the season menu then at least post menus typiques so that a coustoumer can know what to expect i guess you defend them because you ate there a long time ago but for peoples who eats out often you like to know what is being served. for this, brunoise wins in montreal
  21. The old site had no wine list and a menu that they never, ever updated. My guess is that they favor a low maintenance site that still gives people a good idea of the ambiance and the food served. ← what a joke. this is not a web site this is a brochure scanned and put on the internet. this kind of lazy approach remind me of the lazy service in the resto and the poor quality of cosistentsy. if brunoise can have a good web site then apdc can do it they are too lazy or cheap or dont care
  22. great site? there is no menu wine list. or am i missed somethings?
  23. local grown fresh produce is more expensive than the club pack of monster chicken wings at the super C+ first we need to educate the peoples that we need to support local organic famers
  24. more importnt is to highlight on the menu the source of the foods so taht the visitor know that is is best local produce
