  2. I frozen it in a ziplock that I squeezed all the air from, and then vacuumed it in my Foodsaver to be safe. No problem. I didn't , however, have tomatoes in it, jusy avocado.
  3. Those sound good. How about two (thinnish) sandwiched together with a banana cream of some sort?
  4. You're close. The song may have picked up that as a second title but was not the original title. (Hint: this song was released back in '67 by a female singer) ← Ode to Billie Joe, Bobbie Gentry
  5. The Prince's Panties, Mason Williams I frequently call my dogs 'panties' !
  6. This might let you peruse some recipes for one that looks similar: Google does Bhuna Gosht
  7. I don't think I could eat that (what ARE those things?) ETA: OK, I got it......I just saw the squid INK part, wasn't paying attention to the fact that those really ARE tentacles............I still couldn't eat it, and I love squid)
  8. LOL ! I was worried about the same thing
  9. OK, I found it. It is "Parsleyed Eggs on the Half Shell" and it calls for 6 eggs and 7 TB butter, parsley , S&P. Hard boil the eggs, gently cut the eggs in half, smoosh up the innards w/the butter, chopped parsley and S&P, put BACK in the shells and smooth. To serve, add MORE butter to a pan and cook flat-side down until browned ( 10 min or so). Wow, the 70's. I LOVE Anna Thomas (Oh, the sour cream one is one the facing page--just eggs, dill, sour cream, S&P...............so good.)
  10. Seems to me that Anna Thomas, in the original Vegetarian Epicure, made deviled eggs with sour cream, dill and fried them a little until they were crusty brown. Anybody rememeber that? I'll see if I can find the recipe.
  11. Do we have a Deviled Egg thread? Shouldn't we, if we don't? (Summer IS coming !) ETA: of COURSE we do ! EGG CLICKETY

    Pasta Shapes

BOO HOO ! I love trying new shapes and am always thrilled when I find an unusual one. What a shame that we are relegated to eating elbow macaroni ETA: I wonder if a major eGullet email campaign would make a difference?
  17. Now THAT is truly disgusting! (Both the pic and the description....) Nicely done.
  18. My daughter took me to dinner last night (for a Mom's Day treat ) at ARTISAN PASO ROBLES and we had an ADELAIDA ICE WINE Ice Cream, Santa Maria strawberries, rhubarb that was awesome ! The ice cream itself was delicious and unusual, but paired with the strawberries and rhubarb was a knockout. Finished up our ALBAN'S Viognier with it. Yum.
  19. devlin~ HERE (Vintages) is a nice supplement to our local newspaper in SLO that gives lots of current info about the Paso Robles wine country. As you want more info, ask specific questions and you'll get LOTS of help

    Bisquick

My Mom used to make the Bisquick muffins. I'll bet I haven't had one of those in 30 years....
  21. You know, when FNW was new, I was all over it! I was so excited, bummed when I moved to a place that didn't offer it. I don't watch TV much but I ALWAYS waatched the Food Network. It has been, literally, YEARS since I have turned it on. What happened?
  22. I know Colin. I used to make him sandwiches when he worked in the tasting room with my daughter Your descriptions help me a lot; I was thinking along those same lines. I've had your Cujo, and all of the 4V. Very different. I guess I really like the blends, and big zins. Does this indicate an immature palette? (It's OK, I won't have my feelings hurt )
  23. Mary~ This is very interesting to a wine novice. How would you decribe (in these terms) your wines vs. Four Vines (both ones that I am familiar with) to give me a point of reference? Kathy
  24. What a funny site ! As my Gettrio newsletter says: "Browse more than 3500+ snack items, from the common to the obscure, from the salty to the chocolate and kreme-filled. Read thorough reviews of each snack (on Andy Capp Cheddar Fries: "Not very cheddary. Serious aftertaste...Way too much residue on your hands and in the crevices of your mouth"). " Take a LOOK !
  25. Frankly, I CAN'T WAIT !
