    Dinner! 2007

    You ARE loved, Bruce !
  2. We must be sisters. I tell myself I *should* but never can get them past my throat......I get a major gag reflex with vitamins. Smell? Maybe....my aunt used to put liquid vitamins in our OJ when I stayed with her. Don't do too well with OJ, either, unless it is enhanced with vodka or champagne As for the nausea? I wa told that taking them at night help. No go. Then I just wake up nauseated........bleh. Good eating, that's what I say !
  3. Randi~ That looks really good ! Maybe re: bread, they are beginning to get the big picture I'll bet they LOVED that dessert ! K
  4. Even funnier........it isn't. It is sleight
  5. Be well, Ah Leung. You will be missed and thought of daily. I echo the others in my thanks for your generous spirit of sharing. Best~ Kathy
  6. Kristi~ I think Rick Bayless could be fun. Why don't you jump into the Cooking with 'Cradle of Flavor', One Recipe at a Time thread? That way you could blog along with the rest !
  7. FG~ I just compared a NY Russian restaurant (Firebird) on both and found the menupages one much easier to read, same info (pretty much) on both. Why do you prefer menupix?
  8. I thought that was how you were SUPPOSED to peel a banana
  9. Of course you do. How else can they be all the same size so they will cook perfectly? ← And none of those thick, lumpy, big -seed-inside stringy ones........

    Dinner! 2007

Shelby~ What is Morton's Quick and Tender? (Chicken looks delicious!) Kathy
  11. Picky. I will pick each green bean individually.
  12. I think you've done an awful lot of notable things at your young age. Good for you! One of the best things I ever did with my loving (but too involved) family was to become totally financially independent (serious school loans ! ) and move away from them. I COULD NOT let their idea (which is quite different from your family's) of what my life should be deter me from doing what I needed to do. Define yourself. Get away. Support yourself so you never find yourself in a position to pimp your ideals for the rent Best~ Kathy
  13. Daniel~ I envy your egg Nice to "see" you! Kathy (who had tritip leftovers for breakfast )
  14. eGullet "MARROW" search Lots of good info here...........
  15. Celery. Hellman's (Best Foods). Bacon. Rye toast. Dill.

    Dinner! 2007

My gosh, everything looks so good. Tritip and baked potatoes for me tonight. Radishes and cucumbers. My tomatoes are just thinking about getitng ripe......I can't wait ! DanielM~ great looking dinner, nice plating ! Tell us about your tomato vinagrette. Is this your first "Dinner" thread post? Welcome! Kathy
  17. I always like to bring Tomato, Watermelon and Cucumber Salad and the Lemon Chicken from the Original Silver Palate Cookbook (even better cold than warm). Recipes available on request !
  18. Is it sweet? Does it taste like salad? (I see tomatoes.........) That is disappointing. I love cool cucumber lemon water; I had hoped it would be similar. (Target has a cucumber water )
  19. Mary~ I've had both the Honeymoon Viogner and the La Ferme Julien (I think) rose........decent cold quaffing wines. $5.99ish, IIRC Do NOT, under any circumstances, buy the French Ugni-Viogner. So disgusting, smells like fusel oil, tastes as bad. Jess and I took one sip, corked it up and took it back. VILE.
  20. Me, too......what is water salad?
  21. Thank you , Jaymes, for reiterating our suggestions. There is so much information in that thread that it answers almost all questions.
  22. Jaymes~ I agree, it IS the best (for pasta) ! I used to be able to get it at CostCo but cannot now. Where do you find it?
  23. I HATE sweet tomato sauces, and Barilla was one of the better ones. What a disappointment. Classico's Spicy Red Pepper and Trader Giotto's Traditional Marinara are both sugarless.
  24. Did anyone else notice that when they announced the Quickfire challenge, the contestants all ran to do their thing.....with yucky, dirty hands. I hope there was some serious handwashing before the plating of those dishes.
  25. LOL ! I'd eat it too, but I am fond of mutants..............
