Up early again. So I made Swedish Meatballs for breakfast. No Lingonberries so I used some red currants that I had froze last summer, to make a sauce. (for Moe, not for me).

@JoNorvelleWalker I some how missed this post. Beautiful bake.

A repeat of a favourite meal. We had this same dinner at the beginning of the month. I pulled the other half of a Sterling Silver Top Sirloin roast out of the freezer on Saturday. Presalted it Saturday night with the intention of roasting it for dinner last night. Gave Moe the choice of having it for Sunday dinner or for Monday's breakfast. He choose breakfast. So that is what we had this morning. With our typical sides of mashed potatoes, peas and Yorkshire pudding.

Moe's breakfast. Eggs poached in salsa. I had some leftover salsa that I had made last night so I heated it up and poached Moe a couple of farm fresh eggs. Topped with a little grated cheese and served with blue corn tortilla chips. Apparently it taste better than it looks because he really enjoyed it.

Moe's breakfast. Fettuccine Natasha. Recipe from a Toronto restaurant that we use to go to a lot when we lived in Toronto. Made with smoked salmon. I used linguine this morning.

Will it make you feel better when i tell you that I added them after the picture? I picked them off mine.

Burgers last night. Stopped at the butcher on my way to work and picked up fresh ground chuck. Served with double fried fries.

That is how I often feel with something that took some to prepare. Like last night's dinner. By the time the lasagna was out of the oven, it was the last thing I wanted to eat. Of course it didn't help that it was a vegetarian lasagna. I had been promising my "vegetarian" son a vegetarian lasagna all week. Finally got around to it yesterday. Zucchini lasagna. Sometimes I make it with just layers of zucchini. Yesterdays had both zucchini and pasta layers.

Pizza and Bread Bake Night. Dough was hand-mixed yesterday and given a 24 hour cold fermentation. 1000g batch at 75% hydration. Took the dough out of the fridge around 2:30 PM and left it to come to room temperature. Used half in the two pizzas and the other half for a large round baked in a Dutch Oven. Italian sausage and mushroom for Moe and I and a Greek Potato pizza for Matt

Thanks to @robirdstx, @liamsauntand @Norm Matthews, I have a serious craving for Mexican. Moe and I had a late lunch while we were in town, so dinner last night was cake. Apple Dapple Cake And we had the same thing with our morning cappuccino.

Last night's dinner. Grilled a small "Chateaubriand" cut and served it with just green beans and some sauted crimini mushrooms.

Inspired by @liuzhou, I made Congee last night for dinner and Moe liked it so much he wanted it again for breakfast. With toasted homemade baguette.
-
@liuzhou, I love congee, but never think to make it. Yours looks so good. Comfort food. Moe wanted something on NY Day to hold him over until dinner. Fresh baked bread just out of the oven so I made him a little snack of buttered baguette olives and Prosciutto.

I made a Quiche this morning for breakfast. Not something I make very often. Maybe once every 10 years. This one had an all butter crust with bacon, mushroom and spinach and white cheddar cheese. Served with a small side salad.

Happy New Year!!!! So many wonderful NY Eve dinners. @Robenco15 Your Beef Wellington is perfect. I keep coming back to your post. As is our tradition, we had lobster for dinner. I steamed three lobsters, two were 2 lbs each and one was just over 2 lbs. Cracked the shells and pulled the tail meat out, to make it easier to eat, and then finished them on the grill. Served with clarified butter (with a cracked garlic clove). Our shared platter.

@Katie Meadow, it depends. If it is a day I don't work, I tend to make "breakfast" a little later in the morning so then he doesn't need lunch. I'm not really a breakfast person. But on days that I work, and he has dinner for breakfast early , he will often just pick at something, like crackers and cheese or a bowl of soup or cereal if he gets hungry. Moe doesn't cook. The advantage to being an earlier riser, usually between 3:00 and 4:00 AM is lots of time to cook in the morning. I presalted a half turkey breast on Friday and roasted it this morning. Made Moe a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Another work day for me so I'll take it for lunch.
