  1. Poached eggs on rye toast, scrapple, stir fried zucchini, fresh salsa and ruby grapefruit supreme. HC
  2. Fried eggs, fried zucchini, scrapple and fresh salsa. You've seen it all before and here it is again. HC
  3. Yes. It can be used as one big oven or two separate ovens. I had a dual fuel double oven that I absolutely loved, but the touch pad had a history of going out, which was what happened to mine, so I chose to replace, rather than repair. I recently put in a propane fired stand-by generator, which balked at running everything in the house at once, so I opted to line out the electric ovens. As part of that process, I bought my own 150 gal propane tanks, which cut my propane price in half, so when the range died, I decided to go with all gas so that in the event of a power outage, I would have it all . It remains to be seen how well this works out. HC
  4. Thanks, man. Of course, I wanted to redo the kitchen as part of the deal, but when your ovens die, things have a way of changing your plans. HC
  5. First meal from the new oven, a slight learning curve. Baked haddock, asparagus and a baked potato all cooked in the same oven. Not bad, but the timing will improve. HC
  6. Spaghetti and meatballs, and a salad that I choose to call a "whatever you got salad". HC
  7. Tomato and cheese omelette with home fries and salsa. HC
  8. Korean BBQ rotisserie chicken, leftover scalloped potatoes that were supplemented with stir fried zucchini. New stove delivery on Wed, can't wait. HC
  9. Salami, smoked provolone, shredded lettuce, tomato, olive oil, salt and pepper on a store bought roll. HC
  10. Veal picatta, toaster oven scalloped potatoes and peas. HC
  11. Butternut squash and kielbasa from the grill. Still no working oven, but that will all change on Wednesday! HC
  12. Linguine in white clam sauce. One of my (many) weaknesses. Deb did not protest. HC
  13. Bruschetta! It's whats's for lunch. HC
  14. Anything that has been in the fridge for more than 4 days becomes invisible to Deb, or as I like to put it, gets left for the catfish. I am the catfish (koo koo kachoo). Leftover invisible potato salad, fried eggs, stir fried zucchini and salsa. HC
  15. Red curry chicken with SV'd skinless, boneless chicken thighs and cilantro lime jasmine rice. HC
  16. Bartlett pears. One of my favorite fruits. HC
  17. Rye toast, buttered shaved zucchini, strips of brie, sliced kalamata olives, capers, chopped tomatoes, chopped red onions and a spray of olive oil. All seasoned with tajin, dried basil, garlic powder and black pepper. Broiled until bubbly. HC
  18. Last of the duck eggs, that were a welcome gift. Fried zucchini (my breakfast drug of choice) and some Italian toast. @rotuts will note the hot sauce, which I did like. Just the right amount of heat that does not get in the way of a remarkably good flavor. It will become a pantry staple, thanks. HC
  19. It's raining like hell tonight and we need it! I was going to grill a chuck roast, but decided to stay inside and do soup and salads instead. HC

    Aldi

I was at Aldi picking up a few $2.99 pp chuck roasts for the freezer today and saw a $60 air fryer by the same company with a similar video. https://www.aldi.us/en/grocery-home/home-goods/ambiano/Air Fryer/ HC
  21. Whenever I make corned beef tongue, I usually slice 2/3 of it, portion it out into sandwich sized portions and freeze it for an occasion like today. Corned beef tongue Reuben on Aldi seeded rye, with an Aldi half sour. HC
  22. We went out to lunch yesterday to use up a gift certificate. While the food was good (I had mussels fra diavolo and Deb had shrimp scampi), the portions were huge, so we skipped diner last night. I made up for it at breakfast. Scrapple, garlic and tajin stir fried zucchini, garlic and fresh herb bruschetta and fresh salsa. This last batch of salsa had all the heat I wanted and the hot sauce was just decoration this morning. HC
  23. They had a local special on strip steaks and I found 2 that I liked, so steak night was on. My stove is OOC (lost the touch panel). A new one is scheduled for delivery on Dec 7th. These baked potatoes were cooked outside on the grill . That is why they are so dark, but they were good, nice and crispy skin. I made a small batch of cole slaw for the occasion. HC
  24. A two skillet breakfast today. Duck eggs, stir fried zucchini planks and some porcine polenta, scrapple, with fresh salsa. HC
  25. Chicken in red curry sauce HC
