  1. Quick update from this weeks Eye. On December 5th ,Mr Monks had a heart attack whilst awaiting transfer to prison He was taken to Kettering General Hospital, where a police guard was posted at the end of his bed.After 2 days this was removed.The Prison Service would not provide staff , so technically, Mr Monks was " unlawfully at large".He had an extra 3 days added to his sentence.His release date is June 5th

  8. no offence taken...I have found my level The Black Pig will fly...we have enough gastro tourists to warrant the kind of cooking (i think) Nathan is aiming for.Plus we do have a resident population who are not afraid of trying something new.

  11. That's spooky Macrosan..i printed the menus for tonight this afternoon and made the same mistake..Cheery instead of cherry. My waitress spotted it as i was leaving (night off! ), but to be honest i couldn't be bothered to reprint it I told her to tell the guests that they were happy tomatoes
  12. Maybe this is the place to ask....i got some eggs from a local guy, and some of the shells are a bit wrinkly.By that i mean, not smooth all over, with some ripple s at the blunt end...what causes that? and if anyone mentions the ooh arr bird there will be trouble

Thanks Tony, your very kind. you know me too well as the range is in the kitchen, and i have the biggest grin on my face!!!The restaurant looks like a building site, i have a ton of stuff to do, but the bastard is in the kitchen !The gas man will return at 8am to connect and test it.We open again at 7pm to a full house will post more later on the Range Thread Cheers edit thats 7pm wednesday not tonight...we have no gas

    OK this is what we are doing.....I opened them up, cleaned out the poo, grilled with a little butter S+P...allow to cool...sliced up, reheat in a shallot, white wine, fish stock reduction finished with cream...Thanks Egullet! this is better than inter site bitching!!!!!
