@rotutsfear not! Nary a single dreaded GBP touched my pizza. It was an orange one. I hate GBPs too. They are guaranteed to give all indigestion. Tonight, roasted chicken with radishes, mashed potatoes, and butternut squash. This chicken dish finished off my glut of watermelon and daikon radishes from the CSA box. It was getting desperate--one bag of radishes was dated 12-7! After I conquer the giant kohlrabi they gave me last week, I should be back on track for a normal crisper drawer.

Sweet potato, bean and quinoa burger with cheddar cheese, topped with onion rings and a fried egg on a homemade pretzel bun. We all liked the buns, the burgers, and the onion rings, but none of us thought the flavors worked together, and we agreed that the egg was superfluous. That's what I get for making a recipe I found on some random blog!

Here is this week's CSA box. Pea shoots, sunflower sprouts, ciabatta bread, radiatori pasta, potatoes, carrots, red beans, red cabbage, daikon radish, sweet potatoes. Edited to add that there were supposed to be onions in this week's box too, but I did not get any for some reason.

I dislike the texture of eel. My grandfather used to like to go fishing for eel and bring it home for dinner. My mother hated eel, so she would subtly slip her portion into the pocket of her nursing uniform (when she knew eel was going to be on the menu, she pre-lined the pocket with a bag), and dump it in a city trash can on her way to the train she took to nursing school.

I use ATK's recipe. The bagels weigh 3.5 ounces raw.

Single bottle, post consumption. Split three ways though, it was not all for me! Last night, I made flounder roll ups with a Thai style sauce (fish sauce, palm sugar, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, chiles), a spicy cabbage and carrot stir fry, and rice. Paired with a dry riesling.

Two Ina Garten recipes past night: Penne alla Vecchia Betola and "outrageous garlic bread." The bread was really tasty. It had lemon zest on it which really perked up the flavor. Wine pairing

1 cup ricotta 1 egg dash nutmeg 1/4 cup parmesean 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper mix together, then add 1 cup plus 2 tbsp. flour (you might need a little more, depending on how wet your ricotta is). Turn out and knead into a smooth dough. Cut into four pieces, and roll each piece out to a 1/2 inch thick rope on a floured board. Cut into pieces and dump into salted water. Once all gnocchi are floating, cook for 2 minutes longer, then remove with a slotted spoon and top with sauce. Mushroom bourguignon on polenta Wine pairing

Ricotta gnocchi with cherry tomato sauce and arugula. I like ricotta gnocchi better than potato gnocchi. I think they are lighter, more tender, and both faster and easier to make. Wine pairing

I wish I lived near @Ann_T so I could try and persuade her to share her beautiful bread with me! Today I made some bagels for tomorrow's breakfast.

This is the time of year when the CSA box basically looks the same every week (apples, onions, turnips, squash, carrots, bread, dried beans) so I stopped posting them. I already put away this week's box, but I will post next week's. Who knows? Maybe I will actually get something different!

Nope. I have tried a couple of times but they always fall apart. Those are ancient grains ones from Whole Foods. I forgot the brand name. Last night, chicken shawarma And since some are showing wines now, this syrah to share. It was good.
