Anyone's been to this place?

I'm no expert in the whole art of 'cues. But, the place deliver and the BBQ shrimp with sauce that arrived at my door late last night was the only one around that hit my standard of spiciness. The baked beans were pretty good as well. It's expensive, but a good choice for the neighborhood.

. . .  BBQ shrimp with sauce . . . .

Is this down home or down under style BBQ?

I've been a couple of times now, and I'd give them an average score - for NYC bbq.

Chicken wings are good, Shrimp are good...but, is that bbq?

I will tell you that they bring absolutely nothing to nibble while you're waiting for your food, which takes a fairly long time to get to the table...but, is that bbq?.

Food is fairly expensive - comparable to blue smoke type prices.

So, I might give them another try after they've totally figured out their smoker, but at this point, not a keeper, sorry.

Down home is "country," that's just country, not a country and down under is Australia as in "put another shrimp on the barbecue for me." I just don't think of shrimp as southern BBQ. I think we already had a thread on this question and that someone cited someplace where shrimp was traditional, but I refuse to allow anything like that to alter my position.

That shows you how much I know...I would think this is the NYC derivative BBQ. I guess it's not authentic,, but for a late night delivery, it's a notch above Pizza and greasy chinese food.
