I have seen quite a few of the 1998 California prices go into freefall recently. I realize that 1998 was an average year at best. Nevertheless there are probably some real good wines to be found at reasonable prices. Which ones would you look for?

Assuming you are talking about reds. Here are some I've liked:

Trinchero Mario's Reserve Cabernet

Franciscan Magnificat

Mt. Veeder Cabernet

Jordan Cabernet (awesome)

Morgan Pinot Noirs (all of them)

Iron Horse Vineyard reds

Hope this helps!
