I don't know how well known she is outside the UK, but she was the first cookery writer I ever read. I guess I was about 5 years old.

 

She taught me the basics.

I seem to recognize her from somewhere; lived in Scotland for several years in the 70-80's. What a place to be a young teenager...

 

Anyway, "Home Economist" is an interesting albeit dead field perhaps. Interesting to me though.

Not ringing any bells but having been raised in post war Britain I suspect she had more influence on my nutrition than I realize. Thanks for sharing the link.
