Quality of polyethylene cutting boards (Thunder Group vs Carlisle)

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

We need to replace about 15 - 20 Thunder Group cutting boards. There is a large price differential between Thunder Group 12 x 18 boards (about $7 or so) and Carlisle (over $20).

Are the Carlisle boards that much better than Thunder Group? Do they resist grooving, etc. better? Do they last all that much longer?

Also, I see that Carlisle makes a Cutting Board Refinisher. Is that effective and worth purchasing? Can it be used on cutting boards of other brands?

Many thanks
