I do somewhat agree with the comments on the tasting menu though, it isn't really a tasting menu as I understand it. A number of restaurants are doing this, you have to have one on the menu these days, but it's basically just the a la carte menu with extra courses.

I always assumed that was the point of a tasting menu, to allow you to taste a variety of the dishes on offer at a restaurant.

Obviously tasting-menu-only establishments are different, but if you offer a la carte, why the hell would a sane person do all the additional prep for a seperate menu when there really is no need? Services in restaurants offering a tasting menu and a la carte choices are hard enough as it is when it's busy.

On a side note, if you are going to call yourselves "The Critical Couple", you may as well just get "I'm a tool" tattooed on your forehead and be done with it. I agree with the previous comments about the writing; it's boring, one dimensional, precious and pretentious.

And knowing one of the Critical Couple is a consultant in the banking industry with a cellar full of vintage wine, that didn't endear them to me either!

But what annoys me most .. is the horrible stretched image at the top of the blog with that sweaty raw tomato. Not sure why.
