We ate dinner tonight and had an excellent meal.

I started with the Rainbow Chard and Red Cabbage. With the poached duck egg it was a lovely rich warm salad.

My wife had the escargot with a lovely parsley foam. Both hit the spot.

For the main course I had the hanger steak with their pomme frites Well prepared, slightly fatty with an excellent reduction sauce. I tried the pesto and aioli sides but was not impressed. They weren't necessary.

My wife had the bouillebaisse which she thought lacked enough spices although the fish was fresh and delightful.

For dessert she had the creme brulle.

I had the profiteroles. After Cheryl (our excellent server) put the chocolate ganache on them she took some and put it on her creme brulle. She loved it and I loved the lovely fresh pastry filed with ice cream. Their chocolate was excellent.

As I said their server Cheryl was excellent. She new the menu and was efficient and informative.

The room was pretty empty but it is in a hotel. They have changed the menu from the one reviewed by Craig Leban. He hadn't been impressed and only gave it one bell. I would give this version of it 2 bells but I think they may have changed because of his review.

All in all we had a lovely dinner and would go back.

We wanted reservations at Bijou but Craig's 3 bell review made it impossible to get a reservation over night!

Sorry no photos.
