Thanks for the great info. As a Canadian who has traveled to Cuba and has, or should I say had, 6 real Cuban rums in my collection, this is great news indeed. 2 of the 6 Cubans are in my top rums, Matusalem Anejo Superior and Santiago de Cuba Anejo. If they can be even better, all that I can say is... when's the next flight to Cuba.

I wonder is they will be blending new labels or simply integrating the Jack barrels into the current process. We shall see...

Jack barrels come from Tennessee. I think primarily they will be taking advantage of the cooperage skills of the bourbon makers in KY--as the article states, Cuba and KY aren't that different--they are both agrarian based societies: booze and tobacco. Anyhow, I can't see it as being a bad thing at all.

Mick, here in Ky we have another cash-crop besides tobacco. :wink:

Actually, living here in Louisville it is easy to forget how important agriculture is to this state, along with coal mining, bourbon, and horse racing/breeding.
