American wine critic Robert Parker has predicted that Bordeaux en primeur sales in US will fail due to empty wallets and a weak dollar.

Responding to bulletin board posters on erobertparker.com expressing dismay at the higher-than-expected release prices of certain chateaux, Parker said he believed 'the futures market in the USA will be largely a failure'.

Bordeaux 2006 - sit tight!

So now you have it from two respected influential people... Jancis is from England for those who don't know.

I might add the pound is very strong vrs the dollar...and she still say's SIT TIGHT...

The question is how much will be bought up at these prices in Asia. where the Bordeaux market apparently has really taken off? It may be that England and the US are no longer the major market for these wines.
