  1. I've been meaning to bake these for weeks. I just finished baking the My Best Chocolate Chip Cookies recipes and I'm in love. These are the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever made. I'm going to make more to bring to Christmas dinner on Monday. They taste wonderful and I love the sheen. I'm also going to try baking them with adding a little preserved rose petal and see how that comes out.
  2. I just got my mac and cheese fix from there Sunday night. Mmmm mmmm good!
  3. Last night I baked the Orange Berry Muffins. I love them. They are so good, light, fluffy, not too sweet, and just perfect breakfast. This morning I ate one with a cup of Ethiopian coffee. I'm in heaven.
  4. Hey you all, Just a little update. I just made the raspberry vinagrette that GG linked us to. I LOVE IT!! I hope my friends are just as impressed. Thank you. I'm going to be serving it with an herb salad tonight.
  5. My husband and I went on Friday evening. OMG!! I'm excited that this place is here. We live in Bed-Stuy so it's nice and close to home. I had 1/2 rack of baby back ribs, macaroni & cheese, and BBQ beans. Everything was good. The beans could've been warmer but they were still delicious. My husband had the brisket and the coleslaw with mayo. I'm not a fan of coleslaw so I can't say anything about it. His brisket was wonderful. We came at just the right time. After we got our food there was a crazy line, so we came at the beginning of the dinner rush. I plan to try out the catfish next time.
  6. I think they are typically baked. I've never had a fried one before.
  7. This looks really good. I'm going to have to try that. My parents are Jamaican. We've always bought our beef patties. I have yet to try it from scratch. Thanks for the pictures.
  8. Thank you all so much for your replies. I think I'm going to try the recipe link that GG gave. Everyone's ideas and recipes sound so delicious. GG, I had the same face too when my friend told me about raspberry jam. My mind was on using frozen raspberries. Thank you so much. I'll let you all know how it turns out. I start culinary school on the 4th so I will be prancing around these boards a lot more. Ludja: I was going to just use greens but now that you put feta on my mind, I might just try that. It's between the feta or parmesan. I looove parmesan.
  9. I'm hosting a little get together in November and one of my guests loves raspberry vinagrette. How do I make that from scratch? She suggested olive oil, raspberry jam, and balsamic vinegar. I want to hear some other ideas. Thanks, oh and this is my first time posting, I mean 2nd time posting, but I've been reading these forums for a few years.
  10. This was really good! My husband went crazy over it. Next time, I'm going to try boneless chicken thighs instead of breast. I'll also use a little less salt. It was a great dish and I'm just loving the ginger.
