We had a flawless, exceptional dinner at Fascino. Thanks to Chef Ryan, the DePersio family and staff for providing us with a memorable evening. And thanks also to Chef Lou Reda for getting us all together. David will be posting pictures as soon as he is finished feeding his babies. Double O we missed you but Bob was a perfect replacement for you. We actually thought it was you Double O when Bob walked in the door. Glenn, Bev, Tommy, Anthony, Amy, David, Bob, Lou --it was a blast. And the wine........ the wine......oh what great wine. Lou forgot to tell you that we started out with the polenta fries. There were two left over and Amy ate one and I had a third of the second one. Don't know who else finished them. Probably Glenn. Soup was served in a martini glass. Nice touch. Did anyone have bread? I wanted to leave room for the real good stuff so I abstained. I was so impressed that Chef Ryan served two different appetizers. I loved the shrimp cake with manzinilla olive sauce and the seared big eye tuna with lemon, oregano oil, shaved radish and peppercress was also fabulous. What can I say about the rabbit ravioli with morel mushrooms except that this should be Chef Ryan’s signature dish. Perfect. I loved the idea of a cauliflower puree being both a vegetable and a sauce with the John Dory. The fish rested on a gremolata risotto cake and was surrounded by the cauliflower puree and parsley oil. Every plate was clean. We also had a sampling of desserts as well as plates of biscotti and tuilles. Ryan’s mom, Cynthia is the pastry chef and she should think about writing the Fascino cookbook. We had molten center chocolate cake with hazelnut gelato; apple crostata with cinnamon crème anglaise and cinnamon caramel gelato; pistachio praline bread pudding with warm caramel sauce (don’t miss this outrageously decadent dessert); a shortbread filled with cream and fruit; and a crispy phyllo napoleon I think filled with strawberries and vanilla custard. The official note taker has not sent me her notes yet so this posting may be updated later. Coffee and espresso were served and then I think we had more wine. In addition to the wonderful food it was so pleasant to dine with other eGulleters. Our next dinner will be at An American Grill—check posting. Hope you can join us. And the wines…………..

Forgot about Spiritos. Great pizza. Smokey though. Even the waitresses were smoking when we were there ~@#$% years ago.

Haven't been to these places in a LONG time so check to see if they are still open. Would like to know where you have gone to. Madrid 654 New Point Road Elizabeth Michelino’s 905 South Street Elizabeth

Had a very good lunch at Huntley Taverne, 3 Morris Avenue, Summit. We had perfectly cooked crispy calamari, with frisee, radicchio and a delightful thai chili vinaigrette; cauliflower soup; hanger steak chile (my favorite); jumbo Maryland lump crabcake with a buttermilk-chipolte cole slaw; and spicy tuna tartar with a lime-miso vinaigrette. If you are in the area it’s a great place for lunch. Now I have to be sure to go back there for dinner. Phone: 908-273-3166.

New Jersey Monthly does not create a mailing list from the information submitted for the Readers' Choice Restaurant Poll. There is no list, not to share, not to sell, no list at all. No one needs to contact NJM to take their name off a list because there isn't one. NJM asks readers to include their info so they can prove that actual people voted, that is it. Please don't submit false information because if it it is discovered your ballot doesn't count.

Please reconfirm. Also, Lou--what are we having besides polenta fries or will you be surprising us? Zeman--you may want to send me your phone # so if I need to call you that day I will be able to reach you. I've received Happy Birthday postcards from restaurants offering me a free dessert etc have never used them. If I am going to go to a restaurant I'll go and the freebie--usually offered mid-week is not an enticement. With that being said I recently was given a 20% off coupon at a clothing store for a restaurant in the area. Will try that as it is close to home and a 20% discount will get me there.

Many of the winners are not advertisers. It's important to vote. Deadline is March 12.

Done. Looking forward to meeting you. Also, you are still on the waiting list for Fascino.

I've been there at least 3 times and the food has always been very good, especially the seared tuna with noodles. It's not about the food being good. I've eaten at the Mountain Lakes and Jersey City restaurants and both were very good. The problem is no one wants to get any of those nasty diseases that come from poor sanitation or someone not washing their hands.

The take-out, on So. Livingston Ave, is across and diagonally down (or up) the street from the high school, isn't it? It's a bit fat for me from GR, but I do remember a memorable Beef Chow Fun from there --- that I had years ago, when my husband's office was close by. When I think of that dish, I think of that little take-out. Yes, I think so. It's in the Kings shopping strip mall. Sheri Amster, an ice cream store and a video store are there.

Chakra, is a Sanskrit word that means wheel or disk and signifies one of seven basic energy centers in the body as well as levels of consciousness.

I assume so. The health inspector doesn't call a restaurant and say I'm coming in tomorrow at 10 AM!
