Hank-- THANK YOU so much for the report. I am so sorry I never got to La Ciboulette before it closed. I will look into another restaurant for you to try!!
You can bring your own liquor. Just put it in a flask and be discreet. I have seen people bring all the makings for a martini as well as martini glasses to BYOB's.
In Hoboken there is a parking lot on Frank Sinatra Drive. Amanda's will cover the parking. Otherwise it is either $20 or $10. It's not far from the Dining Room at Anthony David's. Another suggestion is Betyi Kebab (spelling?) on Park Ave in Union City. Very good Turkish food.
Hasn't Rosie stated that in New Jersey charging corkage is illegal? It's illegal to charge corkage in a BYO--not in an establishment that has a liquor license.
You are not far from Hoboken. Dining Room at Anthony David's and Amanda's are both excellent. Augustino's was recently reviewed in New Jersey Monthly magazine. In Weehawken I can recommend Arthur's Landing.
I've always had excellent food and service at Rat's. Love to go early afternoon,in the spring, summer or fall, walk through the sculpture gardern ( about an hour and a half), have a drink on the patio and then dinner.
Yes.there is a Casa di Amici in Denville. Philip Privitera is the new chef at Casa di Amici, 17 E Main St, Denville (973-586-4209); BYO. This info is on"Chefs on the Move" on Table Hopping With Rosie. Anthony Lo Pinto--a great chef used to be there. Haven't been back since he left.
Was very disappointed in Oyster Bay. I think I posted on this restaurant. Do a search. Osteria Giotto--I liked this restaurant--and am sure I posted about it also.
