  1. I had lunch at Church St once. I prefer Raymond's if I was going to have lunch in that area. Palazzo also does a nice job.

  5. A man sold a Mexican restaurant and in the contract to the buyer he said he would not open another Mexican restaurant in the area. When his plans to leave the area fell through he decided he would like to open a Cuban restaurant. Will this be a violation of his contract? What is the difference between Cuban and Mexican food?
  6. 12 Schuyler Place
  7. There is no way NJM can stop restaurants from TELLING people about the poll. If they don't say "and by the way, vote for us" then it's ok. If they do anything that smells of asking for votes, they will be disqualified. "Restaurants assisting in the submission of poll ballots and restaurants distributing ballots or magazines containing them will be disqualified. New Jersey Monthly reserves the right to reject ballots that appear to have been submitted improperly." Additionally, the independent auditing firm will conduct phone calls to verify some votes.
  8. I heard that Sears was coming into that mall.
  9. Ninety Grand Grill, Englewood--on the expensive side The Restaurant, Hackensack Village Green, Ridgewood If you are willing to go to Hoboken I would recommend Amanda's or the Dining Room at Anthony David's.

  19. I only wrote about my experience as to the salesman who helped me. When I told him I saw the wine for a lower price and quoted the price which ended in a 7 he said "you saw that at Total Wine." I have been told that Total Wine has a 7 at the end of the prices that they are selling at cost.
  20. Randi--I forwarded your question to NJM as I don't want to give you the wrong answer.

    Address and phone # please???
  22. Chef John Benjamin, formerly of the Manhattan's Aureole and Napa Valley's French Laundry oversees the kitchen at the forty seat Restaurant Latour and offers prix fixe and wine pairing menus. Expensive.
  23. Wine prices change. What's lower at one store this month may be a more expensive than the competition next month. You need to read the ads and e-mail announcements. Additionally the service at Wine Library is excellent. There are many salesman on the floor and they will walk you to the bottle you ask about. They will also recommend other wines that you may like. My experience at Total Wine is if you ask about a bottle they'll tell you which aisle it is in.
  24. Whenever I have quoted a lower price at Wine Library it has been met. The salesmen actually knew which store had the lower price.
