  1. How would you explain the success of Restaurant Nicholas on Rt 35 in Middletown. I have bias against restaurants on highways but he is very busy and very expensive. Others that come to mind are Ryland Inn which is in the middle of nowhere; Amanda's in Hoboken a city where it is extremely difficult to park; and Rat's which is a schlep. All successful.
  2. 4/27 CLICK HERE http://www.northjersey.com/page.php?qstr=e...UVFeXk2MzcxMTI3 Recognize anyplace?
  3. Mazi & Citrico. Can you give us more info. Cuisine, Address, BYO?
  4. Rail Paul --You have won me over and I rescind my statement about Rosemary and Sage. Haven't been there in a long time so perhaps it is worth a visit. I do know that when reviewing Mr Bonom goes to a restaurant twice.
  5. That was the one. This was the dinner where your husband related the story of the fundraiser he attended where the valet parking folks accidentally drove his vehicle into the side of a house... I don't remember that story. Kim you will have to bring your hubby next time to retell it. If Tommy is bringing Turley then I am in. BTW--Kim --Can you give us the inside scoop on the NY board (start a new topic) on what David Burke's future plans are?
  6. "Chef Tim, over at Spargo's Grille comes up w/ creative FG dishes for us every week! Have I mentioned how much I love his restaurant? " Yes, Michelle, and you are beginning to sound like his banker.
  7. BTW--Where did Chef Tim go and why did he come back?
  8. David Bonom had a reveiw recently on Rosemary and Sage and it didn't read as a place I would run back to.
  9. Keep giving us reports of restaurant s in your area. Have you een to any of the new places in Asbury Park? I was at Spargo's when Chef Tim was there.
  10. Thanks Michelle. Where else do you like to dine? Have been to Spargo's once and enjoyed it.
  11. Sienna--I didn't pick the place. Friends did. But I probably would have tried it once. Place was empty for a Fri. night. They would be better off as a pizza parlor. Is there anyplace decent in that area?
  12. I'll have a list of restaurants for Mother's Day on Table Hopping With Rosie 4/30. Meanwhile is the Grenville Restaurant, Bay Head too far? Don't have price or info. Phone: 732-892-3100
  13. He gets them from a purveyor who sells to restaurants. We wouldn't be able to get them.
  14. Viejo--I ate at Siena. It was NOT worth the ride.
  15. I was informed that The Manor was incorrectly rated at 2.5 stars on the website. In the paper the correct rating is 3 stars.

    Jeffrey's

Jackie--Thanks for your input. Haven't been to Jeffrey's but have heard both good and bad. Where else do you like to dine?
  19. No. But Denville has a very good Italian restaurant now--Casa Di Amici.
  20. I prefer having breakfast in a local coffee shop rather than the hotel. Any recommendations for someplace near the Intercontinental Hotel in Sydney? Willing to walk for a local place.
  21. Wellllllll---we all know how sensitive Tommy is!
  22. Andre's in Newton--an excellent restaurant -- has a BYO night.
  23. Decanter! You outclass me! But we have talked about BYOD.
  24. "Example: Table of 6 calls ahead and asks to bring two bottles of Turley. I know that if they are only bringing two bottles with them chances are, they'll have cocktails at the bar and perhaps a bottle or two of white off the list at the table. I make my money, customer is happy, they get to enjoy a wine from their cellar at home without shoddy glasses and poor wine service and hopefully I get a customer for life." Well I certainly hope they send you a glass of wine also!
  25. Tapas De Espana--great sangria.
