  2. =Mark goes to a festival in Red Bank but am not sure of the date or the theme.
  3. That carrier sounds great. I wish I had known about it before I bought my cloth Reidel carrying case which only holds four glasses.
  4. Do you bring your own glasses to BYO NJ restaurants? If so, do they offer to rinse them out and do you let them? Last time I was at Epernay in Montclair they offered to rinse them out but I declined the offer.

There is also a story in today's Star Ledger food section.
  6. I merged the two pizza topics.
  7. What about Thomas Sweet?? Doesn't anyone like Thomas Sweet? I think there is also an "old fashioned" ice cream parlor on Bloomfield Ave in Montclair. Anyone been?
  8. Which restaurants in your opinion have excellent wine lists and which don't? Would you consider BYOing and paying a corkage charge at a restaurant with an inferior wine list?
  9. We might want to start another topic if this continues. However, there are so many BYO's in NJ where I can bring my Turley's that I wouldn't consider BYOing to a restaurant with a liquor license.
  10. Well--if you do get to Sonoma Grill be sure to let us know what you think. Been anyplace exciting lately that I must get to?
  11. Any comments on the 2001?
  12. Tommy--I know you would never do anything to offend. What would you consider a special wine to bring to a NJ restaurant?
  13. Rail Paul--have you been to Sonoma Grill? If so tell us your opinion. Thanks.
  14. We would have helped you out with the baby. It was a quiet Monday night. Wouldn't have been a problem at the restaurant. Grandma Rosie and Grandpa Lowell.
  15. Viejo--You certainly go out to lunch alot! Thanks for the info. I will put Sonoma on my try ASAP list.
  16. Holsten's??? Where can I find this brand?
  17. What do you like to have at Sonoma Grill. Have they spruced up the place?

  19. on Ridgedale Ave. near Rt 10, East Hanover is now open. There ice cream is very good but my favorite ice cream is from Thomas Sweet. What about you?
  20. We were in food heaven last night at An American Grill, 246 Rt 10, Randolph. Chef Lou Reda never fails to please. We started off with bruschetta with tomatoes that were so juicy and tasty that I asked Chef Lou where he got them. Stated off with portabella mushroom topped with goat cheese served with a bacon and balsamic vinegar demi-glace; and a creamy Cajun chicken and corn chowder. The kitchen sent out a baby red romaine and baby beet salad with Italian double creamy blue cheese and caramelized pearl onions in a blood orange-citrus vinaigrette and a don't miss spicy Tequila infused gazpacho topped with crème fraiche and a grilled shrimp. As you can imagine by this time the three of us were full. We managed tastes of our entrees and will enjoy them for dinner tonight. Had a pappardelle with veal sausage served with arugula and opal basil in a plum tomato garlic and veal sausage ragout; fabulous chicken breast stuffed with truffle sausage, gorgonzola cheese and spinach served in a Madeira wine reduction; and chicken with shiitake mushrooms and capers in a Dijon mustard and white wine sauce. Yes, for some reason we managed to down apple strudel with ice cream for dessert. Also, enjoyed a Tasman Bay Sauvignon Blanc. Phone: 973-442-9311. Thanks Chef Lou for participating in the Dine Out For Hunger program.

  23. Have been to the Strip House and thought the steaks were excellent. They are no more expensive then Morton's or Ruth Chris. I didn't care for the steak I had at Bacchus and the service there needed improvement.

  25. This is your first cookbook. Are you planning on writing more? If so, do you think your next book will follow the same structure? Will it be about the same region or perhaps an adjoining region?
