Dice them and add them to rice or salads. I made a rice dish last week with saffron, diced dried apricots, and chopped toasted nuts.

I love seitan. Grilled teriyake seitan kebobs are very tasty with vegetables and/or rice. One of my most popular recipes is a "not beef stew" using cubes of seitan, a vegetarian gravy, and stew vegetables. This is very good over noodles. When I make seitan at home I freeze most of what I make which results in a firmer, chewier texture. One of the benefits of making seitan at home is that you can make it into any shape you want. I have a seitan cookbook that includes some pretty cool recipes using raw seitan. You can roll it out and stuff it and than bake it with various sauces. It's a good book, I'll take a look for it and post the title if I find it.

Here in CT it's soda but growing up in Boston it was called tonic.

During the most recent pregnacy I craved Thai and Indian foods, avacados- had to have them in the house at all times!, fruit salads, broccoli rabe, kale and other greens, and cheese of all kinds.

I've been overdue with all three of my babies for at least ten days and it really sucks! But I'm sure you'll have your sweetie pie any day now and fall in love like I did! Best luck for a quick and healthy delivery. Now make sure someone from the outside brings you some good food. I have never been as hungry as I have been after giving birth and the hospital food is so horrible. For my last child I had learned and planned ahead and had Thai and Indian take-out delivered to my room by friends.

Many of my recipes have gone "suddenly bad" like the paneer that wouldn't set or the tried and true chili that suddenly tasted bitter or the puff pastry that wouldn't puff. Sometimes it's the ingredients and sometimes I'm just not "on" in terms of cooking. Sometimes my sinus issues interfer with my ability to accurately season the food. Sometimes the weather does funny things to my dough while it's rising. Sometimes I just dump out whenever I'm making and try it another day.

Jamie cooks, preps, and talks so fast that I get a little anxious watching his show but overall, I like it. I'm also really starting to like R. Ray's 30 minutes a day which I couldn't stand for the longest time.

If it's your meds than we're on the same meds 'cause I hear it too! "made of plastic-it's fantastic"

Wow, another great suggestion. I'm starting to wish I had made plans to stay longer than two days!

Right! And the candy dots? They made you have pica bacause you always got some of the paper in your mouth while trying to rip off the dots with your teeth.

That looks so good. Did you use the panini maker to grill the veggies? I've been told you can do that.

I'm even more excited about this trip now that I know about the brewery. My 7 year old daughter thinks she's Mia Hamm so I have a feeling we'll be heading over to the soccer place as well. Thanks for that suggestion.

Excellent link. The menu looks wonderful, something for the veggies and non-veggies alike. And yes, we're visiting next week so I'm packing the heavy coats! It looks like a great town from the website so I very well might return this summer for some camping and kyacking.

This sounds great. My husband will be thrilled too- baseball museum and beer!

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I'm definitely going to check out that bakery. I've never been to Cooperstown before so this should be fun. Not a lot of snow in CT right now so I'm kind of looking forward to seeing lots of it.

I'll be visiting family in the area next week. I'm looking for places that are family friendly and have vegetarian options. Thanks.

I'm just going to add this so that people like me who aren't good cooks all the time won't be afraid to post. Well, I burnt the hell out of dinner and had to order out pizza again! I was going to make a wonderful pasta dish with toasted penne and broccoli but I burnt the penne and then the garlic and even the broccoli because I didn't put enough water in the pot. The pizza came, the kids ate it and now they're finally in bed. I have all the pots soaking in the sink. Sucks to be me.

Microwave playdough!!!! Recipe please!!!! I used to love to eat the salt kind. Licking your fingers after playdough time was the best! Yummmmm. Microwave playdough: 2 cups flour 1 cup salt 1 Tbs. Alum 1Tbs. veg. oil 2 cups water mix all ingredients in a microwave bowl. Stir in food coloring. Heat for two minutes and then stir well- repeat until dough looks like play dough. Let it cool on the counter for a while and then knead it until it is all one color- add more veg. oil if needed. Now, add different shaped pasta, gitter, uncooked rice, sand, perfumes, whatever the kids will respond to. Store what the kids don't eat in a zip-lock bag or an air-tight container. Have Fun!

It's all about the Pepsi vs. the Coke. Take sides and stand waaaaaaaaaaaay back 'cause people have opinions. I like coke in all it's forms because Pepsi tastes watery and weak to me. I won't drink it at all. I'm sure you have your own opinions as well.

Oh, I dunno, Toasted. . . my mother did her best with me, but apparently I'm one of those "slow learners" you hear about. Well, the reason I have Toasted as my tag name is that I burn at least half of everything I cook! I have real timing issues and I hope I don't pass it on to the poor girl.

I always start my risotto by sauteing it with butter and shallots. Then I add the white wine and then my home-made veggie stock very slowly- a 1/4cup at a time. When the rice is done I like to add a couple of Tbs. of cream before serving- it adds that nice creaminess to the dish.

Yikes! That sounds painful. My poor little girl learned her first "I will never again" lesson yesterday after grabbing a hot pan from her Easy Bake oven. She burned her finger just a little bit, hopefully she will remember that when Mommy says don't touch- she really means it!

I have made so much playdough I should have a degree in it! I can make regular playdough, playdough in the microwave, I can make it any color, put sparkles in it, noodles for texture, dayglow for black lights etc. I've made tons of it and half the kids in the classroom gobble it up. Maybe I should try to make some broccoli playdough?

What about playdough? I stopped buying the stuff after the kids were too "full" from playtime to eat lunch.
