  1. Lay it out. I'm more of a Jimmy Carville kinda guy. I'll stay on the edges. You get the spotlight, my friend. Four dates. Name them. Aurora gets a two-fer. Carry on.

"Do Me Baby" stills stands up (no pun intended ) after all these years.
  3. Mr. G, What's your opinion of the state of scheduling this?
  4. Anyone have an ISBN number or possible purchase information for this? Is there a current Italian edition in print? A Google provided the following: Le Ricette regionali italiane | 1ª ed. Anna Gosetti della Salda Cartonato | 1106 pagine | Solares | 1999 | ISBN 889002190X

BTW, have you popped it yet? I'm thinking I should wait until I can play Prince's classic B-side, "Erotic City." (I don't think I'll post the chorus here. )

I had a couple glasses of Tavel last evening.
  8. Foer is wildly talented. I'm eager about more from him. (One of the, if not *the,* top contemporary novels I've read this year.)

What's the connection between women wearing little more than foamed milk & hating Starbucks?

Yup. The Spanish Cava we've been drinking this summer. (Distributor closed it out & I buy it at $6.49 a bottle. )

Yeah, but see my post just above. It's worth it for at least one bottle.
  13. I think Fresco's old enough to party with us.

There something about being able to say, "Let's drink some Sex, baby." Of course, we could play around with this for quite a while.

My wine man recommended that I try L. Mawby's pink sparkler that is marketed as "Sex". I was told to ignore the racy monicker & enjoy. I haven't popped it yet. Anyone taste this?
  16. Okay, folks, don your creative persona & be a problem solver!
  17. Any opinions on Nancy Harmon Jenkins' "Flavors of Puglia" & "Flavors of Tuscany"?
  18. WWJAD? What Would Jane Addams Do?
  19. WWJDD? What Would John Dewey Do?
  20. There's an appropriate solution that includes Aurora's attendance. Brainstorm. Be creative.
  21. Varmint, when you're ready for your next career I seriously suggest you consider diplomacy. As far as a direction to go in, I'd suggest that we consider other dates, too. (Except, obviously, a conflict with Varmint's event.) I'm willing to consider Aurora as a special case. She needs to be included.
  22. Aurora, be creative. Dispel the dilemma. What are our alternatives?
  23. Thanks, Adam. Would you consider David's book as worthwhile on a shortlist for books in English per the theme of this thread? Also (and open to everyone) . . . Any opinions on Patience Gray's "Honey from a Weed" in context of this thread?
  24. Any opinions on Elizabeth David's "Italian Food"?
  25. I knew this planning was looking too good to be true.
