So you've had the burgers at Mc Sorley's? Ok... debate. You did report on Old Town. First Monday of every month, was it? Who says what to Old Town? Let's keep everything on the list, so I don't have to keep reading the entire thread looking for that one place that I think I forgot. What else am I forgetting? P.S. Mark, I am sorely disapointed that I missed your burger. Glad you enjoyed it.

why would i be joking? i wasn't claiming it's the best burger in new york. but it is very delicious and everyone i know likes them. the meat is good and they're only $2. don't knock it till you try it. not destination food, but if you happen to be in the neighborhood... a mere five or six blocks from peter lugers. sorry, thought this was a more general thread about good burgers in new york and didn't fully realize the steingarten-esque nature of the quest. Sorry, bpearis, it does sound lovely and affordable and all, but it's just not what we're going for in the BC. We're doing the burger as a burger, not as a concoction. I mean, I might want to try a charcoal cheddar burger smothered in onions with a molten chocolate center, but it's just not right for here. (That is actually sounding tempting to me right now.) That lets me off the hook. In which way? I caved on the suggestion made by bpearis after bpearis suggested that I was acting like the taste police. If you're the taste police, I'm the taste Gestapo.

I think PM was always on the list in the guise of Burger Joint. Then you are much mistaken.

I didn't have the heart to tell her; she was soooo adamant about it. Change that to IS, and you've got it right. NYT is a pack of idiots.

Can you get it without the sweet chinese bun, provalone, and spicy mayo? If so, I AM IN! This is Burger Club. Not Chefs Fucking with Food Club.

herb, scruntching emoticon! Now what's that about the i?
  16. Well, I used Jaymes' recipe today, but I screwed it up. I thought my potatoes would equal 2 cups, but I was a half cup short. Plus, since I already screwed it up I added the l;ast dregs of some pumpkin pie filling I had in the freezer. It was maybe a half cup. BUT the whole thing tasted like pumpkin pie to me. Next week, I'll try it just as it's written. Sorry, Jaymes! But DAMN that evaporated milk tasted good. I have another product you'd love. More later.
  17. Maybe you could put Pop Rocks in the Kitty Litter cake. When they start popping in the kids' mouths, you can say that the kitty had worms and the pop rocks are live worms that came through in the poop. If you're going to be disgusting, why not go all out? Claire is soooo smart.
  18. I just noticed that I'm member number 6666. Does that make me extra devilish? Devilish squared? Super-sized devil? and that was your 66th post. creepy. You're not serious. He's been here too long to have 10 posts in one day. Are you serious? hillbill, yes you have a touch extra evil.

Nick and Dave, have you been following the thread, but just decided to partake in the emoticon discussion? I mean
  20. Michel, your member number is at sixes and sevens. (Sorry, I love that expression).
  21. Testing, testing...
  22. Don't EVER feed me.
  23. its weird, but its a fact that the only places you can buy crisco in germany are gay shops... (and we aalll know what they do with it ) t. Not to "blue" the boards, or anything, but Crisco is probably the worst thing you could use. For safe sex, anyway.
  24. Is is because they gave you a paper crown? I never liked their food much, but there was a period of time, during my princess phase, that I was enamored of their paper crowns. The paper crowns were the best!
  25. Where the hell did that come from? Nick, we know that wasn't you, silly.
