If you're referring to the obelisk that's the Washington Monument, I agree: don't miss it - that's the only one in this town that has had proper upkeep (though I strongly preferred it when it was draped with blue fabric). You can get a great view of the Washington Monument from the cafe on the top of the Hotel Washington on 15th St NE. Sadly the food there does not live up to the view. Check that avatar! All supahfly... I was going to say that! Excellent, vengroff.

I ate at The King And Thai in Boston once. It was really good. Plus, when I was living in SF, there were a swillion restaurants which had punny names. It was seriously annoying, but the food was wonderful. Kate, good point.

This just goes to show you that weirdness is in the eye of the beholder. I kind of grew up and in live in a musical situation where (to paraphrase Lucinda Williams) at my house playing Charlie Parker, Johnny Cash, Sun Ra, Elvis Costello, and Bing Crosby all in the same mix is considered not only right, but desirable. Those are a tad more homogenous than what they were playing at the PM. Wish my memory was better. Maybe someone else from BC will pipe in?

Used to be an excellent place on 16th st. in San Fran with tons of old crap on the walls. GREAT greasy comfort food. What a dream. BURGER JOINT, Tony! Chrissakes! You should know better.
